So, the little bottles of electrolyte and cleaner that came with my Personalizer Plus etching machine are about empty. Where can I get more, or can other stuff be used instead?

Danbo, you can get it from T.U.S.Tech:

I have a bottle of their electrolyte and their neutralizer. Works great for stainless and carbon steel. Great folks to deal with!

A bottle of each will last your natural born life.

I get my electrolyte and cleaner from http://www.img-electromark.com/catalog3.php you have to buy a big bottle of each but it works great. When I changed from using the chemicals that came with the Personalizer to the IMG chemicals my etched mark improved a lot.

Take care

I'll second their electrolyte. I bought a quart from them about 4 years ago and still have about 3/4 of it left. Its like "Brylcream"....... a little dab will do ya. I have used it to etch somewhere around 200 knives.

As for cleaning your stencil...... I blast both sides with Windex a couple of times, then blast (from a spray bottle) clean water through them. Then place between a folded paper towel until next time. Works great.

The key to making stencils last is not to over heat them.
