Hey all, quick question, I am halfway through a heat treat oven build and am second guessing myself.
The idea was to build a narrow low volume chamber to keep draw at 10a, as it is pretty difficult to get a 20amp circuit to my wee workshop. I'm on 240vac for reference.
Numbers check out and I will have a heap of wattage at around 2500 w for a narrow but long chamber. I'm only getting about a knife or 2 a month done so volume is fine to do 1 or 2 knives at a time, and I'd like the length to enable working with slicers and longer kitchen knives.
Is there a minium clearance you want between blade and element to ensure even heat distribution/avoid hot spots?. Currently the chamber is only 120mm wide.
Thanks for the help and thanks Scott for the awesome oven build thread.
