Emerson A100 & Mini A100 what do you think

Hi Guys,

I wanted to share my thoughts on these models. I have had my full size A100 for a while (2008 model) & just picked up a used mini A100 (2009 model) on the exchange just a few days ago. I absolutely LOVE these knives. It seems strange that in this day & age with all the new/fancy knives out there: flippers, bearings, full Ti, carbon fiber, Super Steels, on & on ...... how much the A100's works for me.

The A100 line up is so straightforward and simple (things I really like) I do not really see the need for a lot of the other stuff (although I will still keep/use my other "fancy" knives).

It seems tragic that the Mini A100 may be discontinued. I have my fingers crossed that it shows up again so all those that missed out on it have another chance to pick one up.

Pearl, I feel exactly like that about my micro-Commander. The small Emersons seem to be well-kept EDC secrets, huh?

Your pics make those 100's look really good--probably the best I've seen the 100's portrayed. The blades really pop. Those are factory grind, right?

I hear d/c rumors on the micro-Commander too...

Yeah, the smaller Emersons are just more "pocket/people friendly" for my uses. Thanks for the comment on the pics. It is easy to make this one look good :thumbup:. Mine are both factory but, the Mini A100 has been re-profiled on a Wicked edge & has a pretty wide/thin edge bevel.

Wow, great knives guys!

The contoured A-100, and the bolstered one, look very classy.

I really wish Emerson would do limited editions of popular designs, like the CQC-8, with rounded G10 scales
