Does anyone have any thoughts on the emerson combat karambit folding knife ?? I have two of the training knives which I am training with. Working
on the drills on emersons krambit training dvds. He gose over a whole lot of info during the course. I for one will buy two of the regular combat karambit
knives. I am really impressed with his knives. I am a newbie to knives.
Well thats my 2 cents. ANY COMMENTS ?? Thanks in advance.

I bought one. It's very cool, very ergonomics. Some people complained that the ring too small. So if you have big hand, order the super karambit (bigger ring). It's my EDC now.

I handled one some time ago, and it's on my list of knives I want to get.

It felt solid in the open position. Just be careful using the wave when opening the knife until you get the hang of it. The guy behind the counter mentioned one of co-workers ended up making a nice hole in his pants by accident when waving open the kerambit!

i do not like any kerambits myself, dont like the looks, dont like the blade shape, HATED the big ring poking outta my pocket with my tarani master model, that said imho the EKI 'bits are probably the best around if ya want a 'bit.

I have one of the earlier EKI Karambits. I have carried it a few times, and used it once. A coworker brought some deer sausage to the office one time. The diameter was about what my wrist is (fairly large) and fit into the curvature of the Karambit's blade almost perfectly. So, I decided to cut myself a piece. Sliced through it like butter.

Definitely buy a trainer of some sort especially if you plan to get the DVD's and do drills.

have one. carry it everyday on duty support side to defend against weapon takeaways.

fast, reliable, wicked blade shape. and with the ring i can draw and not drop the damn thing.

Own a clone/waved been customizing it, just playing around with a dremel. These clones are like KARBT, don't have the same linerlock setup (one ball bearing not two), screws, steel or build quality as Emerson but being inexpensive I can with a clear conscience to my cheap soul modify it to suit me. Screws are hex and tops are flush with the scales, a nice touch. First thing I did was polish off the black finish as it was flaking off with it's first use. The scale edges were cookie cutter sharp so I rounded them all. The karambit hole was to small for my fat index finger so I ground it out bigger. Ground the tip of the knife to make the top half inch sharp. Ground the open assist hole to round out those edges too. Very light knife for it's size at 3.6 ozs, about the same as my traditional Schrade pocket locker and 3/4th the size of a Commander at 5 ozs.
Nice knife, can garden with it, cut branches, dig out weeds, open mail, cut out articles, string, wire and rope, open package tape and cardboard. All in and out without any drama.
Showed it to a couple of "good old boys", using the wave to draw the blade out of my pocket, never saw grown mens eyes sparkle with lust before.

Knife handle is still a little too small for my hand and hoping to try a Super Karambit for size. Regular Emersons are too small for my paws, I own and like the feel of the Super Commander and Super CQC 7. I use the clone karam, Super CQC 7 and a cheap lockback as EDC, the Commanders live in a box.
