Endura vs para 2

Thinking about what I truly want. I have narrowed it down to a para 2 and endura which one should I get or should I get a delica?

Have had an Endura SS for years.
When I bought an Endura FRN FFG I was sorely disappointed. Feels like a steak knive. To light and unsubstantial feeling for me. I will keep it around, but I like the heft of my SS model. I would like to try a Para 2 one of these days

Both... it depends on your needs. I carry the Endura at work because it is slim, light, handles are tough and non reactive, easy to clean. I carry the PM2 off work because it's nice, smooth opening, great lock, useful blade shape, very well built knife for the price.

The Endura/Delica are great lightweight knives. But I absolutely LOVE the PM2. And something else to consider in the same size range is the GB2. A bit heavier duty than the PM, and not quite as smooth opening and closing, but well designed for its intended hard use.

Will say that the PM2 is not only a great design with equally amazing ergos, but is also FUN to play with. Yeah, I'm an ocd flicker. [emoji56]

I would recommend the PM2. Not a huge fan of the Enduras. PM2 carries well, lightweight and again is fun to play with. Careful though they are addicting. 9 months ago I bought the black/satin PM2 and now own almost every model including the sprints. Just haven't pulled the trigger on the new s110v model.

Both good knives. The sprint run Endura HAP40 is rapidly vanishing, whereas the S110V Para2 is going to be a production knife. hint hint.

What would you be using said knife for? A functional EDC, a "just to have" knife, or used as an art/looking piece? For an EDC knife, Delica for sure. It's the right size/weight/thickness for every day cutting tasks and melts away in the pocket. PM2 is a decent EDC, but it's size and price means it stays home a lot of the time for me, but I absolutely love my PM2 and want another, just because it's an awesomely designed knife. Out of the 3 you listed, the Endura is kind of an afterthought knife, at least for me. My Endura hasn't seen any pocket time or use, and doesn't stand out to me like the other two.

I carried a Para 2 exclusively for several years. All the great things already said about it hold true for me and it's the only knife I own 2 of. And yet--I got a HAP40 Delica and Endura to check out the steel (which BTW is just a delight to use and maintain) and was surprised to discover that both of them offer some advantages for me over my beloved Para 2s.

Delica: Super comfortable to carry--I can't tell it's in my pocket most of the time (I can always feel the Para 2 when I carry it). People don't freak when you deploy it. Enough blade and edge for most tasks. Way better slicer than the Para 2, not that the P2 is that bad or anything.

Endura: I find it more comfortable to carry than the Para 2 even though it's a bigger knife, mostly because it's not as fat and the FRN doesn't grip the pocket as aggressively as G10. It's also slightly lighter in weight. I also find it to be a better slicer.

Both are cheaper.

Last thoughts: I cook a lot. I would never reach for a Para 2 to use as a paring knife. It's a bit fussy to clean and that slows me down, because I'm constantly rinsing and wiping whatever blade I'm using to prep food with. Also, the blade stock is a bit thick for optimal slicing. The Delica and Endura, on the other hand, perform beautifully as small kitchen knives. I take that as a sign of their overall excellent design for most tasks.

The Delica is an easier carry as it is more compact and lighter than the other two. If those aspects are important to you then the Delica would be my suggestion. The Endura is nearly identical to the PM2 in dimensions and weight. Money being no object, I see no reason buying an Endura over a PM2.

the Para 2 is a top EDC, the endura is a full size folder and it excels i the kitchen. The delica is a very civilized EDC.

If you could get your hands on an Endura Hap40 sprint I would do that. Going to be paying for it now on the aftermarket being theyre already gone but Hap40 is such a fine steel and that burnt orange is very nice. I have both and havent been able to take the Endura out of my pocket since getting it.

I carry an Endura 4 and PM2 everyday. I got both to try them out and sell the one I liked the least...kept them both and carry them both now. Just get both.

Weston, these are two different knives to me. The Endura a lighter knife, though the Para2 is light as well. One with a finger choil (Para2), and one without (Endura)

You can find the Endura with a hollow grind, but the Para doesn't have that option.

The Endura is a back lock, which is great, but the Para2 has the Compression lock which is just sick!

Either knife can be found in multiple choices of steel type, so you have some variability, but the price of upgraded steel in the Endura puts it close to Para2 prices anyway!

I own multiple models of both blades you are looking at, my advice is if you have the money go with the Para2.
