I want to get a SAK alox scale engraved. I tried to get it done locally but the company flaked on me. Anyone knows of a reputable engraving vendor that I could send the knife to in order to get the job done? Thanks.

What do you want engraved on it?
I do that type of work.

Depends on how creative you want to get but these guys are awesome. You can send them your own design if you like or choose a design they already have on their website. Different fonts to choose from. They can even engrave a photo that you supply. All kinds of options. They'll send you a mockup of what your completed item will look like after the engraving. They don't do the work until you approve the mockup. One item or one thousand items. Awesome folks and very good at what they do.

The items I've had them do for me are a little too personal to post here but email me if interested and I'll send you some pics of their work.

Consider also your local jeweler. That's something jewelers do all the time.

I'm just looking to get my last name engraved on the little panel on the scale. That's it. It would be nice to have it laser engraved but the scratch engraving would be okay also. I have several knives I want to do. Contact me via PM or email on what you can do. Thanks.

Laser engraving is the number one choice that I am looking for. The scratch engraving is secondary. I just wanted to engrave my last name on the panel of the knife's scale on the SAK alox. Nothing special. Let me know if they could do something like that. I have several SAK alox knives I want to do.

I don't doubt for a second that they could do it but it might depend on what color you want the engraving to be. I have only had them laser engrave onto stainless steel, glass, and acrylic. The ss engraving is black. The glass and the acrylic are both white. Their website states that laser engraving on "anodized aluminum" will be frosty white. I have to assume that it would also be frosty white on non anodized aluminum.

You might consider giving them a call. It can't hurt to ask and they are very polite and knowledgeable.

I'll add that they they went way out of their way for me because I kept wanting to make changes. Especially on my first order. I'm surprised they didn't get frustrated with me and tell me to buzz off. They did a tremendous amount of leg work for me just to engrave one item and then after all the hassle I caused them they only charged me a measly $12 and some change. They whole time they remained polite and eager to satisfy my needs. The engravings are excellent quality and all three of mine are exact matches of the mockups they sent me. Good people.

I would give them a call and see what they have to say.

A little late on this thread but I actually took two Vic Pioneer's to Things Remembered at my local mall and they had it done in about an hour. They looked fantastic and the price was very reasonable. They were gifts for family so I don't have any pics otherwise I would have posted them.

This is very interesting. I have thought about asking Things Remembered if they engrave items not bought in their store, but I always forget when I go to the mall. I will have to check it out. Thanks for reminding me, JITDC!
