Got an Umnumzzan yesterday and I really like it. :)

I can see this knife getting a lot of carry time. Love the proportions. It's a lot of knife but it doesn't feel big to me. Sounds paradoxical but that's the best way I can describe it. The Umnum just feels...right.

Congrats to you and nice pics! I've got to get some epics of mine up too. I've been EDCing it for about a month now.

I just got one as well in trade and am patiently waiting for the other party to get his stuff from the PO and give his approval of the deal before I start carrying it. I'm pretty picky about what I want in a knife, but I think this knife will be great. I think it's funny though that when they first came out, a lot of folks did not care for what they saw. It seems like they are changing their minds slowly over time.

I had to do that too. It was only about 8 hours though. ;) I really wanted to stick it in my pocket, just to carry around the house, but waiting is the right thing to do.

Well, I got the "thumbs up" from the fellow I traded with. Any guesses as to what's been in my pocket since???:D:thumbup::cool:

BTW, what's up with your thong hole? I just noticed that mine has a rotating piece of metal in it that has a hole in the cross section middle that allows me to attach a fob in between the handles, if that makes sense. (See post 668 in the CRK folder pics thread if you don't know what I am talking about.)

Congrats on the Ummie! It's probably one of those knives I'll end up buying again (sold two already, and now I've been missing them with all the pics up here lately :D )

I wasn't too keen on the Umnum. when it first came out TBH. The blade humps and the handle texturing were not my thing at all.

Having handled a few and being constantly exposed to the knife over the last year........ I suppose its not going to be long now :p

I've had mine almost a month and I can't help but mention how special and unique mine has been.
How smoothly the 'Numzaan engages. How smoothly it functions as a folding knife. What it constitutes as a model of technology. Others have mentioned in their posts how it is simple, yet complex, and this is but a miniscule demonstration of the rules of the world working out.

What a knife.

I wasn't crazy about the original lanyard length and orientation so I took it out and just put it one I'd already made. The bar is held in that spot between the slabs by the lanyard cord. If you untie it and pull the cord out, the bar will slide right out of those holes. It's an interesting feature, but it kinda limits the type of cord you can use and how you have the lanyard sit.

Just FYI, you can get regular paracord in that bar but it takes a little work. I had to de-gut my cord, melt the tip, cut it diagonally, then work it through with some fine pliers. Would have been nice if they made that hole a little bigger to make it easier but it will fit if you work at it.

Yeah I was fiddling around will all manner of cord scraps to see what would and wouldn't work on it. I like to mix and match, try out different stuff, so leaving the bar out of the equation was the easiest thing for now. I might like to do something with thin leather using the bar sometime though.
