Hi guys, i was thinking about my needs, and i've been stopped in my research of a big perfect bushcraft knife after i realised that i didn't need a big knife.
In fact, i thought that a smaller EDC blade would be much better to start the knive adventure.

I just wanted a good steel.

Now there is the question: is the enzo trapper 95 in elmax worth the money ?

A lot of people seem to like this small blade, but i've never seen someone owning one in elmax.

IMO, if it is well built and a good heat treatment, it could be worth the money. But, for me, I'd rather spend $180-190 to get a custom Elmax knife. Just a preference. Then I can get exactly what I am looking for.

Only you can decide if it's worth the money to you, if it appeals to you if say go for it, I've never seen anyone unhappy with their enzo. If the price is to steep take a look at some of their less expensive offerings.

I've got an enzo in d2 that I love, and I'll probably be picking up an enzo borka in the next few months. They make a great knife for the money.

Elmax is great steel and I don't think I've seen any bad posts about Enzo knives. Though I'm no expert. I say go for it if you like it.

Thanks for all your answers, i think that it will be a good knife for what i'm going tout do with it.
I love it's look and the price or the blade (already have micarta) is super competitive !

I've an Enzo Birk 75 in D2 and it's a great knife. Came razor sharp and holds it's edge well. For me D2 is the perfect steel. My overall impressions are that Enzo makes excellent knives.

I've built two knives from Enzo Trapper FFG Elmax blades. Both came really sharp from Brisa. For me they where worth the money (one kit, and one separate blade and handle), but two might be one more then I need. I got their leather sheath with the kit, and made a kydex sheath for the other one, the leather sheath is ok but not great. One of mine have G10 scales, the other one micarta, I have a slight preference for the micarta one, the G10 is a bit handle heavy, the micarta is more neutral.
I have abused the G10 handled one (my user) quite a bit, and while I have gotten some chipping (really small) and also really worn down the edge scraping glue off a concrete floor, it have held up pretty good. I have no problems sharpening it.

In all, not my most favorite steel, but not far behind. Shape and size is good too, and if you make the handle yourself you can adjust it to your liking.

I just read someone talked about custom elmax knives for 190$
Were did you found that ?
European makers man! There are quite a few great ones over there that will make an Elmax knife(or whatever steel you want). $110-180 for a fixed blade with a 3.5 - 5 inch blade(depending on the maker). Shipping is usually about $20, but at those prices, such a good deal!! I have quite a few blades from Europe and they are all amazing hard use tools.

I'm still trying to find guys that forge elmax knives for less than 200$ but evrything i see is guys selling 900€ handmade knives with great steels or 200-300€ knives made of 100cr6.....
Can someone help me ? Where should i search?

Gollik knives is one of my favorites. I have 4 knives of his between 3.5 and 5 inch blades and they were all under 200 including shipping. Keep in mind I bought a few, so price breaks might be involved, not sure.
Dulo knives - Thinking about picking a knife up from him. Hear good things
Adam Koralski - Jamall on the forum. Some knives that price are over 200 US, but very well made. I bought a A8Mod chopper from him for a great price, and it PERFORMS!! He actually has some Elmax knives for sale on the knife maker for sale area right now!
Konrad Sadowski - Think I spelt that right. He, Gollik knives, and Koralski sell knives here on the knife maker for sale area.
There are others but I gotta get some sleep

A great priced US maker is "AD knives" , Alex Dron. I bought one of his knives and it performs so well!! Worth every penny, and was not spendy at all. He is on the forum as well.

Came to post exactly what ATJ999 already covered for "local" options.

My personal experience with the Trapper was mixed. Really felt like the handle was too narrow in it's width for heavy pressure cutting. But then again, blanks are available and liners are cheap.

TRC Knives makes a few similar sized fixed blades in ELMAX. I had their K-1 for a time and it was very nice.
