Below is our Ernest Wright collection. My wife uses the tailor's shears (top and third from the left) and the little 4" embroidery scissors quite a lot. The 12" industrial shears on the left are my go to for heavy-duty tasks and the 12" paper hanger scissors are the best wrapping paper cutters on the planet, IMO.

I started to acquire only the best, buy-it-for-life scissors and shears I could find after having a cheap pair with plastic handles snap apart in my hands when cutting cardboard many years ago and send shards of plastic flying. Since then, Ernest Wright, William Whiteley and Kai have been slowly replacing all of the disposable brands at our house.
