Hello, everybody. I have decided to use a two-knife system when I go on camping trips. My system will consist of: an Izula-II, and an ESEE-6 or a Junglas. So, if you had to decide between getting a 6 or a Junglas which would you pick and why?

Thanks in advance!

Well you've already got a good small general purpose knife for the finer chores, so I personally would go for the Junglas to cover larger chores like light chopping and brush clearing. The Junglas's larger size will make it noticeably better for those applications.

Though if you also plan to carry an axe or full size machete the Junglas would be a bit redundant.

depends on your locale ?

I enjoy the Izula II combined w/ ESEE Lite Machete & I roam TX and the lite machete has handled everything I need it for ?

but I go with the Junglas to answer your question :D

The 6 is reasonable and is something a realistic person would carry and use. The Junglas is kicka** and tons of fun. Which person are you? :D

I personally don't carry anything larger than an RC-4 or Bark River Aurora when camping.

Don't like any more weight or bulk hanging on my belt. I always have a large caliber single action revolver when I'm out and about, so I'm already belt heavy.

I use a small forest axe for all my chopping needs.

If hiking the 6, if a short hike in/car camping, Junglas. If your hiking your camp spot will be in a different area each night, so you'll want to keep it small and easy to erase when you leave, so you won't be processing as much wood or as big of wood, so the 6 will be more than enough and lighter/less bulky to carry. If you don't have to go far to get to your camping spot and staying there for several days, you may want a bigger fire, or to practice building a more elaborate shelter, clearing out a spot for your tent, the junglas is what you'll want, so it just depends on which type you do more. Either way I'd probably carry and nice folding saw like a laplander.

If hiking, the Junglas.
If car camping, the Junglas.
Goooooooo Junglas!!!

Seriously, get the Junglas. More knife is more better (this message brought to you by Canadians against grammar;))

Both great knives. You will end up getting both eventually so just go ahead and do it now and get it over with :D

+1. Believe it or not, my Junglas is one of the most used knives I own. If I am outside working, I have it on me. I don't even use my hatchet anymore.

if you watch these, you'll know :)
