Can anyone recommend grabbing one of these for a tough fixed blade that should last. Any feedback good or bad is appreciated. Thanx in advance

Go with SOG. always with SOG, they invented knives specifically for the seal teams, and the seal teams still carry the same model today. If that's not tough enough for u, your standards are too high. No offense.

The Esee 6 is a fine knife, time tested and proven. And now with stock scale options an even better option.

I had a Boker Plus Vox Rold that was a lot like the ESEE 6. I wanted to get an esee6 because of it but I wanted the hm version. I am glad I did not get it because i am learning I dont care for full flat grind blades. I love flat grinds but full flat grinds suck in my simple opinion.

Just do it!

The Esee 6 is a great midsize knife. I haven't used mine recently; because I've needed larger or smaller...but I don't foresee it heading to the chopping block (the Exchange).
Mine has TKC g10 scales; so much more comfortable than the old stockers.

What they said, it's a solid, no-frills, no-nonsense choice. Nothing real fancy about it, it just works. Not sure I would say high-value but I don't think it will disappoint most people, so probably a fair-value choice.

Personally, I like the 6hm handle a little more but both are great choices if you don't mind the cost.

Very good knife. Can’t go wrong. IMO that 1095 is also really easy to tune up in the field. Well recommend.

Yes but get the upgraded G10 handles. I also went thru The Knife Connection and the G10 handles are much more comfortable then the original ones.

ESEE has a darn good rep here on the forums.

I always wanted an ESEE 6. I spent a bit more and got a Bradford Guardian 5 instead. I still might end up getting an ESEE 6 w/ the new handles out.

I have an ESEE (RC) 4 and can attest to the quality. It was my main camp knife before I picked up the Bradford.

Don't buy into the marketing hype.

To be fair, SOG did make a couple of knives that the seals did use. The Seal 2000 in fact won a Seal knife competition. It's is long discontinued though so unless the seals have a huge warehouse of them, they certainly can't still be in circulation. SOG did not invent any knives, nor do seals carry SOG knives exclusively, in fact most probably don't. Last, if toughness is what you want, the Esee 6 is tougher IMO than the Seal 2000 (or its current iteration, the Seal Team). While a fine knife if you can find it at the right price, the Esee 6 is still the better knife. Last, they are two completely different designs made for different tasks. Not sure why our new friend chose this thread to make this proclamation.

But hey, careful who you listen to on the internet. What the hell do I know?

ESEE 6 is hands down the best fieldcraft/bushcraft knife I own.

What no one has mentioned yet is that it comes with a FOREVER warranty. Not a lifetime warranty, but a FOREVER warranty. You break it, they'll give you another one. I've never seen one broken, other than one that got shot into two pieces with a gun.

A little slow in getting to the picture, but here's mine

(admittedly, only used a few times since I stripped it...but I'd rather see the steel than the worn coating)

The esee 6 is to fixed blades what the paramilitary 2 is to folders.
