Hello everyone! I just wanted to share my latest project, a "Euro" style chef's knife in Hitachi Aogomi # 2 (Blue steel) and Arizona Desert Ironwood. The tip is in perfect alignment with the handle pins, spine rounded and polished, extra tall 2.25" heel, nice balance point between the maker's mark and the front of the handle. Heat treatment consisted of normalizing, 3x thermal cycles, DET anneal, soak at 1490°F 10 minutes, P50 quench, 3x temper, 64-65HRC. Blade and handle both were given a hand rubbed satin finish. I'm not a fan of mirror blade finishes (thank goodness!) nor shiny handles, much preferring the look of satin. Anyway...thanks for looking! It is posted elsewhere here on Bladeforums!
