Everyone's latest acquisitions!

Thanks for the kind words, brother. I'm glad the knife went to you and that you're so pleased with it. My latest acquisition is your $, but it would definitely not be classy to picture that. :p Hopefully my next post here will be the grail that I'm getting closer to purchasing with your help. Enjoy that BlueStar, my friend!
I'm quoting myself as I never posted the grail I referred to in my response to Quiet Quiet above. I've not been buying a lot the past year or so, but here's what I've acquired in 2020 with a little surge lately due to funds that came my way somewhat unexpectedly. The grail, around Feb 1st...

...this surprisingly brick-like piece, which I'd always been curious about and ended up glad I didn't have to pay for by the pound...

...and finally, just yesterday, I found a variation of this one that checked all the want-list boxes for this model and just couldn't stop myself from pulling the trigger.

As I mentioned in another thread yesterday, I think I'll go bury the rest of that $ in the back yard as my wallet seems to have been cursed by the Knife Gods.

First of all, an entire post of absolutely beautiful knives, but the biggest thing is that it pleases me very much to welcome you to the "Rainmaker Owners Club". Here's your packet, free drink coozie, oh and refreshments are over there, and @evilgreg will get you sorted and show you around. LOL

But seriously, that Dr. Death. Simply stunning.

Thanks for the nod to the RDD, brother, plus many thanks for the warm welcome to the ROC. The initiation fee was not inconsiderable, but being able to hang out with you and @evilgreg is certainly well worth most any price. :D

I like knives that are set apart somewhat from others of their ilk, but eschew anything that's too-too bling-y so that Rainmaker I picked just hit my sweet spot. I really wanted an FFG blade for functionality--the dagger grind is kinda cool looking but I don't imagine it's a great cutter. For me, the harpoon grind somewhat belies the linearity of the knife's design. I thought about one with holes with bronze accents, but in the end liked the uninterrupted texture of the blue Seabed Rocks slabs. I had posted a little back and forth with e.g. a while ago that I might really prefer the older Rainmaker iteration for it's liner lock but having this one certainly doesn't preclude me getting another either. ;)

I love my 247 Wayfarer and am really pleased to have another piece from Olamic. I've had some very cordial correspondence with Eugene in the past and really like their business model as well as their knives.

...and as long as I'm posting here again...more recently-acquired-knife porn to stay more or less on topic...
