Extrema Ratio Fulcrum S The slightly smaller version of the iconic FULCRUM

Hi. Pleasant review. Thanks! The knife seems to perform well in all the non-cutting tasks, like prying, digging, piercing, etc. It really struggles when it's time to cut something. Even on easy stuff like the stalks of grass you were cutting, it looks like having some difficulties :D. Let alone the tentative fish gutting and I had a good laugh with the ham cut :) . What I understand is the Fulcrum is not born as a camp utility knife, rather as a civilian version of the Fulcrum bayonet. I still remember the good jokes from my compulsory military service about the bayonets, I can imagine a civilian version :D. I think a rather good camp utility knife from ER is instead the Venom (I don't own this but had the chance to try it once). If you want to stay with the compact series, I think the Shrapnel it's still the best, even if the handle it's that couple of cm. too short for a real comfortable grip (I own this knife and used it quite a bit).

Hi you are absolutely correct with your observations. The blade angle is very steep. I measured it at around 22 degrees so it's not going to be good at simple slicing etc. The grass was actually wild mint and most knives are crap at cutting this stuff as it's like wire despite it being really thin LOL. I think u are also right re the Venom, a much better blade design, though I'd drop the upper guard as i think guards are pretty much (unless they happen to be huge) left over from the past-ok I'm no knife fighting expert. I personally prefer the Dobermann IV as a better blade that can still take punishment. And you are correct about the shrapnel, good blade but the handle is too short for most to hold properly. Yep I think it's a hacker, pryer first before being a cutter. Thanks for the feedback and watching anyway. Maybe I'll put up the review I did on the dobermans IV soon.
