I read everyone's bug out bag posts and I've never seen this included. Does anyone pack one?

I've had s couple occasions I wished I had been carrying one. I used a bread tie once in place of a screw. Was also in a place where it was impossible to get one. I used a pencil with the eraser removed and chewed on the metal till I could use it to turn the screw.

Was curious if people just didn't mention this our if it was overlooked. Could quite literally be a life saver. Especially if you are as blind as me :)

I have one in my EDC bag....it weighs almost nothing and is one of those things that's hard to make an improvised replacement for if you don't have one around. Good thinkin'

I keep one in my Edc, and in my car. I don't wear glasses but this litle kit has helped a bunch of people.
Def worth the min. Weight

When I travel I always take along an eyeglass repair kit that contains a screwdriver, spare screws, cleaner and cloth. It's very compact.

Absolutely! One in my bag, and one I put in one of those little aluminum capsules on my keychain. I substituted one of those little Victorinox corkscrew screwdrivers for the long one in that one.

The Leatherman Wave/Charge, which is carried by a lot of people has a little eyeglass screwdriver in it.

I've got what I call my "Nerd Survival Kit", it's a SAK and a walgreen's brand eyeglass screwdriver, with 4 screws contained in the driver handle, these two items are carried in my back left pocket in a KSF leather pocket slip.

I keep one in my altoids tin; the contents have more than a few uses.

I have one in my car. A super light repair alternative would be to put a couple of staples in any piece of paper you're carrying. Works great as an improvised screw.

For myself, messing with a tiny screw and screwdriver, out in the woods, is a no-go. Drop the screw once, and you're out of luck. Instead, use a piece of snare wire to replace the missing screw. A more permanent repair can be done, when you get home.
