Got one of these arriving on Tuesday. No pocket clip (by choice). It strikes me as an eminently practical knife, and my intention is to use it outdoors, hence it will reside in a secure pocket, and am hoping that I will get some small benefit from the absence of the clip. I realise that in some cases the clip adds to the grip, so to speak, but does anyone own one, and can they help hype me up? ;)

If I had money to burn then I might have got one of the more upmarket Fällkniven folders in this series, but I am not currently in that position. Also, I want to use it fairly mercilessly.

Your thoughts, informed or otherwise?

Why have second thoughts or doubts.....great choice...a real work horse that will see you thru the day

Oooh.

It arrived.

I think I am in love with an inanimate object. Again.

I am quite sure that its more expensively dressed sisters are gorgeous, but this is a very, very nice knife.

It is an eminently practical, solid folder. Aesthetically I love it, which is always a factor in the purchase; the blade shape is really gorgeous. It opens with a solid *thunk*, there is no play whatsoever. The F&F is exceptional, perfect centering etc.

I will be taking it on a very harsh trip in just over two weeks, up to the Western Highlands [Scotland]. Three nights up on the tops, winter climbing in the daylight, then drive and fly back to the big smoke for Monday morning.

Will post review with pictures, touch wood.

After a couple of days carrying and using it, I am really smitten with this knife. It has got a real heft, and feels really positive in the hand. Difficult to explain, but it just feels ‘right’.

I’m actually surprised, as I wasn’t expecting to be quite this impressed or enamoured. For those looking at an excellent quality, strongly built, medium folder that is not one of the usual suspects, I can seriously recommend this knife.

Price wise, for CoS laminated steel, an extremely beefy liner lock, solid steel liners and high traction scales, it’s actually a very good deal. To me this knife represents serious value for money.

That steel is what they use on the Pro range by Hattori. For this price, it is a gimme. Can’t wait to take it up in the mountains in a couple of weeks!

Here it is, next to a regular A1:

Who’d of thought that less than a year later I have discovered a stash of flammable money? ;)

Arriving tomorrow is a PXL in Green Micarta with the 3G laminated steel. Well, this limey doesn’t have any turkey, so it’s my way of being cheerful. :D

Happy thanksgiving!

(I’ll post the review in the proper place this time.)

I have had the PXL with the plastic (they call it grilon) scales for a while, 4 years? I also have a venerable F1 that remains in outstanding condition. they make a great knife, period.
