Never bought one but just ordered a Kershaw Blur that is listed as a second. Not just on this one but has anyone ever regretted buying a second of anything? What's the worst you've seen? I've seen many reports of if it weren't marked they wouldn't know why it was a second but haven't seen many real complaints. Not sure if I'm starting to regret the order or not.

I have gotten several kershaw seconds over the years, including a blur, never could tell why except for a scallion that had an almost imperceptible tiny flaw in the dlc finish, I had to look hard to find it, was like a small pin prick and the base metal didn’t show through.

I would say your safe on your seconds order, never heard of kershaw selling a blem with anything more severe than a minor visual flaw. I don’t think they would sell a knife or want one with their name on it if it had any real issue.

I never bought any from Kershaw, but I have bought a few from Cold Steel. I never could find the flaw in any of them. I got great knives at an excellent price.

I bought a Cold Steel factory second Master Hunter many years ago. I have still not found the defect, nor have several of my friends.

I bought a 15V Manix 2 for the price of a VG-10 Endura. Only "defect" I could discern was blade centering being a bit off which doesn't bother me one bit since I don't just collect knives, I use them all as intended. Not only do I not regret it, it's probably my best purchase for the year.

Yeah the old CS Carbon V seconds were great. Had one (a dagger) with a wavy centerline, and another with a bad snap on the sheath (knife itself was perfect), but other than those 2, couldn't tell why the others were seconds. Don't have any experience with seconds from anyone else.

See: Recent Acquisition of a ZT0560CBCF XXXX

I'll never use or carry this XXXX. Only purchased it to add to my ZT collection and will immediately replace & sell it if I find a non-XXXX version of it that I want to buy.

The only other XXXX that I own is a Kershaw Shallot 1840CKT that I bought when I didn't have that much $ & that I've used & carried w/o any problems but that's before I amassed a collection of 7 other Shallot variations that will never be used or carried.

I couldn't be more satisfied. The only "defects" I could find so far are the blue-white schmutz in the rubber texture and it's hard to see in the bottom pic but just to the left of the K in Kershaw is a tiny bit of rubber cement sticking out with the rubber slightly lifted. If I wasn't trying to find that bit I wouldn't have noticed and the (paint?) in the rubber would probably scrub out if I cared enough to try. It is marked XXXX so no one can try and deceive anyone which again doesn't bother me in the slightest. Also loving that it looks like the clip is the same as the Leek which mean deep pocket carry here I come. Trying not to immediately order more of these...

Edit to add... The grind looks off in the pics but is perfect. Seems to just be the camera or angle of the shot.

I've owned more Kershaw blems than you can shake a stick at, going back many years. I've been extremely happy with every one of them. Well except one now that I think about it, a Junkyard Dog 2 titanium framelock with the laminated SG2 blade, however that was a known problem with that model where the steel laminated on the outside wasn't hard enough. I've owned handfuls of others and they've all been basically perfect. The only other 2 where I remember seeing anything at all a bit out of place was a little inconsistency in the thickness of the brazing on a composite blade, and a slightly wavy edge bevel on an S60v blur, however that was a known problem on the S60v Blurs also as they had a tough time sharpening the steel.
