Fake or real Fallkniven A1

Hi!
I bought the knife on the secondary market. It’s like new and never used. It has a Kraton handle instead of the usual Thermorun and the sheath is not Zytel but Kydex. The packaging and the logo on the blade is also somewhat different from the A1s produced today. Is it fake or just from an older production?
Sincerely, Sha

Since 2017 Falkniven has been using the hidden tang app to authenticate the hologram on the box. Chinese boxes are white inside instead of brown. If you don't have a box you'll need to compare photos to ascertain if it's real or fake.

I don’t know how to add pictures..

Create an account on a Picture Hosting Site, like Imgur.

You can post your pic by direct link to your picture.
If that fails you can always post the typed out link itself.

We can tell you if you have a fake or not. The Fallkniven A-1 is a VG10 core SanMai construction. Meaning that you should see a line just
above the cutting edge where the steels meet. If you don't see that, then it's a definite fake. Otherwise, need to see the photos of
your knife.

I got an answer from Fällkniven. Thank you for trying to help without pictures. The knife is from when the blade was all VG-10.

From Fällkniven:

“Dear …..,

it's a real A1k from 1998.
The kydex sheath was made in the US.
At that time, there were no copies.
Since it looks pretty unused, the collector's value should be fairly high.

All the best
Peter Hjortberger”

If you had posted a picture we would have identified it.

Yes, maybe you could. I read that thread before I posted, but was still not sure. I also posted in a local Facebook group with pictures and got many conflicting opinions. It was solved rather fast, as Fällkniven replied quickly. I got lucky with this one. I promise to practice my picture posting skills.
