I just saw where the new Fallkniven LTC slipjoint has been released. I am sort of excited to try one. Has anyone seen and handled one in person? They look great, and appear to not have a half stop. I hope that some BF supporting retailers get them soon. :):)

There were a few pre-production LTC's availible directly from Fällkniven HQ, but they quickly soldout.
I wasn't fast enough to be one of those, who got one early.
The production batch is said to be availible from the middle of December.

Thanks for the link

very nice indeed
A scandinavian design
An economy of style
I understand why some may not like it.....

The steel means a small blade like that would almost never get to sharpening
Just strop it

Why I will not get it?
Price!!

Are these the knives you are talking about? If so, they are uninteresting looking other than the steel.

Yep, those are the ones. I find them interesting because:
1. Great steel in a simple package
2. They have nail nicks on both sides. Great as I am a lefty.
3. They appear to be with out a half stop. I want to find out if that is true though! I am not a fan of half stops.
4. The anodized colors look great! I just need some color in my knives.
5. I like fallkniven, and would like to see what they can bring to the slippie table.

I too am curious about the price here.

I like the idea, but the equal end frame cries out for a secondary blade at the other end.

The existing Fallkniven folders are made by Moki. Are these new ones also Moki made ?
In addition to the steel the other reason to get a Fallkniven/Moki is the smoothness of action. Simply delightful, like a Steve Hoel custom folder at 1/10th the price.

I expect to get one next year. Its about soon to be 15 years ago i had mailconversation With Peter hjortberger about this type of knife. Think of this knife With canvas micarta and stainless liners. Double the price and i would still get one.
