I'll snap some photos tonight, if I'm going for high performance I grab the Savage 10FP or the Remington 700 Sendaro. If I'm packing long distances or hiking in thick woods my Ruger Target Grey Frontier is pretty much perfect, and I really have an affinity for this rifle. When I'm rolling with a bunch of old timers I take the 7mm Parker Hale 1200 Super.
I haven't rifle hunted for quite a few years. Switched to archery and love it..
However, my favorite hunting rifle was a Winchester model 70 SS in 338 win.
mag.
Not very perrty, but it was a great shooter. I use to hunt Elk in very nasty weather conditions, so the SS worked out great.
Marlin 336 topped with a Bushnell 1.5-4.5x scope. I've considered going back to the Williams peep sights I had before, as the last couple years my longest shots were under 50 yards.
I want a Marlin 1894 in .357 mag in the worst way right now.
My one and only sidearm is a Ruger GP100 in .357 mag. Can't seem to find a picture of it, though.
I didn't know Winchester made a lever rifle in .30 carbine.
The only factory lever action rifle in that cartridge that I am aware of is the now discontinued Marlin Levermatic.
To the OP, lately my go-to hunting rifles have been one of my Remington Model 7's, in either .243 Winchester, .260 Remington or 7-08, or when I'm in the mood, one of my Savage 99's.
Past favorites have been a Interarms Mark X in 7mm Mauser, a tang safety Ruger 77 in .280, BLR's in .358, .284 and .308, and a tang safety Ruger 77 International in .308...and there have been others...
