Has anyone had dealings with "Marine & Tactical Wholesalers" whose website is tacticalwholesalers.com?

I just came across them on the web tonight and see that they have decent prices but I've never heard of them before and wanted to see if anyone else had.

A engine search for reviews brings up reseller rating website where they have 256 reviews mostly positive and seem to be responsive to answering any negatives. They look alright from what I can see but we have a lot of great dealers right here.
 
Old thread, but doesn't seem to have been answered yet. I'm after a Fallkniven Idun and want to see if any of you have experience with this seller before I take the plunge.
 
I just bought a Fallkniven PXLwh and a Spyderco Caly3 from them. Shipping time was fair, price was really good. When I got the knives, I had minor questions with each of them, enough to worry that i got factory seconds. I emailed TW and they never responded. Fortunately, I got some good advice on Bladeforums that the spyderco was fine and was advised to contact Fallkniven about my concern with theirs (seemed to be some discolored spots that wouldn't wipe off on the blade). Fallkniven responded immediately, and turns out it was just hot oil spots and they cleaned in about 3 seconds once I used soap instead of a dry rag. Fallkniven was awesome, I won't buy from TW again though, regardless of price. You don't blow off a concerned, polite customer like they did....not cool.

A colleague of mine pointed me at them for a fairly large order today (~$12k)...and all was going well...until I entered shipping information, and their system started replying "shipping options not available for that address...please check"...so I double, triple, and quadruple checked the shipping address...which we've used hundreds of times with other vendors....and it was correct. I clicked on the 'contact us' link on the top of their page...saw a phone number...great! Called it "we don't actually help people via phone, e-mail us or leave a message...."...left a message, sent an e-mail, and filled out their request for help form for good measure.

...no responses. Tried alternative shipping addresses...in DC, Maryland, and TX. (I even tried my personal address...they wouldn't ship to my front door!)

I should mention that this was a time-sensitive order, so I waited about an hour before looking for product elsewhere (which I found fairly quickly...paid about $50 more for the entire order...but given shipping likely being that much, not a big deal at all). Posted a review on resellerratings so people could be aware of this situation (and so, hopefully, the vendor might get the idea to fix these problems). About 5 minutes later...I got a response...on resellerratings....the vendor has flagged the review as a violation of TOS, claiming "purchase never occurred, therefore this review is invalid."

...I'm thinking we dodged a bullet, and if you're reading this, you should note to AVOID TACTICALWHOLESALERS.COM at ALL costs. You'll be glad you did.

My bolding in the quotes. Of course they seem responsive on negatives. They get the real bad ones removed.

This thread is a great reason for allowing necro posts. As long as we are adding real information, let it go on and on.
 
The prices are pretty good! You can't do a search by 'brand', so it takes forever to search through hundreds and hundreds of knives. MANY are out of stock , but not marked as such on initial screen.
 
Another update...posted what they did on ripoff report...they called me a fraud! / responded by posting picture proof there to show their lies.
 
So we seem to have ID'd another bad actor to be avoided.

The customers who were happy posted happy reviews. They are clearly in the majority - like 85%.

Then there were these.

"Tried to order a scope from these people. When I placed the order and he told me it wouldn't ship for seven business days I told him I'd like to cancel. He cussed me and called me names. Not a good person to do business with.
Bought the same item for less from Bud's with free same day shipping.

"I find it ironic that I am asked to review this company. I purchase a marine fan. And they promptly delivered the product. My complaint is that the fan immediately shorted and obviously defective .the problem is that I have been unable to contact them . 1 phone call where you get a. Answering machine and leave a message and 3 emails for which I have had no response. And then I get this request to rate their service .....very POOR!!!!"

I ordered a Leopold mark AR 115390 scope and was contacted two days later saying that item was no longer available because the website had not refreshed. A week later I went on they web site and found out they are still selling the product that they are not able to provide for you. It was not worth the minimal savings for an item, that once you order, is more than likely not even in stock."

"Product arrived in a timely manner. Upon opening the shipping carton I discovered that the inner carton was not factory sealed but had been opened and resealed with clear tape. Looked like it was all there. So I went ahead and installed it. Within the first five minutes the product stopped working and now it looks like I'll be having to return it to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. I'm not a happy camper. Oh, and no invoice copy was included in the package. This is something that I'll need to get warranty service from the manufacturer."

Because there was damage to the Leupold box and no damage to the shipping box, it is more than evident that the scope was picked from inventory with the obviously damaged box and sent out to me anyway. I am surprised that any company would allow an expensive and delicate piece of optical equipment to leave there warehouse at all. I can only hope that I have no issues with this scope. I will only be able to tell if there is internal damage once I try sighting it in. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement.

Also, Todd has threatend me with fraud because I stated I would contact my bank today and have the charges reversed if I did not receive my order by today.

worst experience I have had with a usa seller, after ordered items came in way late via ups and damaged emailed time after time and no response called and could ONLY leave messages. still no response so screw them. will never order from them again,

"I am very unhappy with this reseller. I placed an order on March 1, 2014 for two items almost $500. I waited a few days for the order confirmation but did not hear anything. 6 days later I emailed the reseller (because their phone number is generic recording) and got a response from Todd that simply said "we were impacted by snow. sorry....) REALLY?? 6days to place the order!!! You guys are only a middle man, the items were shipped from two different places. I wonder how long they would have waited if I didn't call? Funny how all my other orders during this time, from Amazon and E-bay didn't skip a beat. Needless to say my order was time sensitive and they didn't deliver on time. After placing the order on March 1st, I received one item on 3/12 and the other on 3/17. Sorry Todd, unfortunately you won't be getting a second chance, there are too many companies out there that get it right the first time every time. Even when it snows."

I purchase $140.87 worth of merchandise from this seller. I never received the merchandise, and when I contacted them to check with the courier the used, they informed me that they would file a claim (2/20/14). Once again, on 2/22/2014, I was told that they started a claim. After a couple of conversations with someone named Todd, it was established that the package was mis-delivered to somebody else. One 2/27/14, I asked how long the trace would take and was told 8 days. Well, at that point the claim should have been close to an end... But apparently, when i contacted Todd on 3/3/14, i was told they were just waiting to hear back from UPS, and they would have something by 3/10/14. It is now the 11th, and i haven't received the merchandise, a refund, or any further information. Would i recommend TACTICALWHOLESALERS.COM?? At this point, that is highly unlikely. So, STAY CLEAR AWAY FROM THESE "SELLERS". I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, PayPal, and NY State Attorney generals office this friday if i don't receive a full refund by then.

UPDATE!! Accusing someone of fraud for closing out their paypal acount...CLASSIC! Refunds can still be processed with a closed account.

"This is the worst buying experience I have ever had. They charged me Shipping: $13.58 for a knife! It will take almost 2 weeks to be delivered. They claimed it is USPS' fault. I traded emails with them, and asked for a refund of their inflated shipping charge for late delivery. They refused and closed the issue. Don't deal with them. They jack up the shipping, and ship at the cheapest USPS bulk rate. If you want to buy on online, go to Amazon.com, not Tacticalwholesalers.com

"customer service sucks. I ordered a cold steel barong machete. the package was lost in the mail. Apparently after 4 weeks, Todd can only offer that a trace was put on the package and then silence. Dude lacks the basic business sense to deal with his drop shipper or wait to claim the insurance. Someone with real business sense/customer service skills would have offered a refund or replacement weeks ago. I have escalated may Paypal case and will get my $40 in 30 days. Thanks for nothing Todd. Buyer beware. YOUR BUSINESS is only as good as your last transaction. Your reputation is built on how you handle things when they go wrong, not when your drop shippers do everything right for you...."

So beware if purchasing for Christmas I would just go to local store as they are more flexible with their returns and also back their products and would obviously care if the product was defective unlike Tactical Wholesalers."

The vendor replied in each case denying any responsibility, often with sarcasm. This vendor also denies that it is a retailer and characterizes retail sales are an accommodation.
