Man, I'm going to be flashlight poor! I have two Olights on order, a T-10 Q5 and a T-20 Q5. Now I find one on www.moorecutlery.com that is going to come live at my house! Gary had 24 of these yesterday and has 8 now!!:thumbup: To me that speaks well for the T-1. This is a 2 X 123CR light with two settings, a low at 60 lumens, and a turbo at 225 lumens. The specs say a stainless steel head and a tempered glass lens. Tailcap clicky and comes with a spare rubber......................for the tailcap. So, anyone have one of these yet and what are your thoughts?

Damn, that is tempting. And I just bought a P2D! But I'll probably pass, it seems a bit oversized for what I like to carry.

i imagine the new fenix tac lights will be great, will be interesting to see how well they stack up against the SF L2 & L4.........i really like my L4 FWIW.

I'll do a review after I get it. I have it on order with a Kershaw Tyrade so I don't know for sure when I will get it, hopefully within the next month sometime.

Btw, the T-1 has a weight of 5.4 ounces as compared to a P3D which has a weight of 1.7 ounces, both excluding batteries. I'm going to guess that the greater weight of the T-1 means that it has a heavier build. For me I would think this a positive, what would you think about the additional weight?

This light looks real interesting. I have a P3D and I think its a great little light. It's my EDC light. I am real interested in hearing your review.

I ordered a T1. Hope to have it by the weekend. I don't really know how properly to "test out" a flashlight but I will post my impressions after I get it. This will be my first "high tech" flashlight so I'm sure I'll be pretty impressed!

please post a review when it arrives.

Here's a comparison eview I did on CPF (CandlePower Forums) -

Fenix T1 Comparison Review

a few sample beamshots from the review -
compared to the legendary SureFire 9P -
that's the 3x CR123 lithium xenon light (105 lumens) -

vs. SureFire 9P (3x CR123 xenon - P90 standard lamp)

I would say the T1 is definitely brighter by a magnitude....

.... not convinced?

There's even a direct comparison with a 1,000,000cp spotlight!

I actually ordered the T1 based on your review Unknown!

I liked the size of the T1 as well, because it is going to be my truck light and is reasonably big but plenty small to fit in my console.

The Fenix T1 is quite a bit bigger than the P3D

Exactly, and I don't think 15 more Lumens over the P3D Rebel 200 (215 vs 200), makes up for the size and WEIGHT. The P3D is very pocketable, and the extra tactical features of the T1 don't appeal to me.

just depends on what ya wanna use the light for.

Got my T1 yesterday from the Fenix Store. Ripped open the mailer . . . . and the flashlight was on. Battery must be nearly dead since its not as bright as my photon microlight. It was shipped in a manila mailer and the clamshell pack has an opening so you can apparently test out how bright your light is before you buy it. Not a good combination for mailing.

This is on top of the Fenix Store shipping me the wrong light the first time. I'm very disappointed.

Its not the 15 lumens in difference that has me interested. I am just curious about if the focusing is different. It does claim to throw a beam 200 meters. Thats the part that makes me curious. I agree that the P3D is very carriable, its my EDC and its great but the T1 does interest me.

Length wise, the T-1 is 5.3", and the P3D is 4.5". The diameter of the T-1 is 1.3" and the P3D is 0.8" in diameter. So yes, the T-1 does seem a bit larger than the P3D. From what I've read I guess the extra weight is in the thicker walls of the light and the heavier head w/stainless construction.

I guess I'd be semi interested in how much better the distance throw is, but I am pretty happy with the throw at, say, 50 meters (or yards) of my P3D, the T1 would have to be significantly better. Although, if I am planning on illuminating something far away, [cough, cough, raccoons] I take the Sams Club HID.

This is not 50 metres (more like 5 metres:o) but this should give an idea of how the T1 throws compared to the P3Dce-Q5

The Fenix T1 has only a just noticable more intense/concentrated hotspot than the Q5 P3Dce - which may make a few metres difference - but I shouldn't think it's going to be by a huge amount.

I'll try them later on tonight to see if there is a noticable difference in throw.

It's now dark outside, so I tried the Fenix T1, P3Dce-Q5 and P3D-RB100 - at 50 paces shone on a olive green painted solid fence -
I can just tell that the T1 threw better than the Q5 P3D, which, in turn, threw better than the RB100 P3D.

This is comparing one after the other - I may have difficulty identifying which light is which, if shown in isolation.

So subjectively I think the T1 probably has a few metres' advantage - but not by any large magnitude.

This is not surprising since the T1 has a larger reflector which should give better throw.

The Rebel 100 gives off a lot of light - but its LED/reflector combination spreads the light out more for a smoother beam - which is probably preferable for indoors.

This kind of confirms what can be seen for the stairway shots even if the distance was only 5 metres for those.
