Personally, I like its looks, but the description doesn't state the type of steel, which makes me suspicious that it might not be a high grade stainless. Not sure what Hen & Rooster uses for their fixed blades?? Also, the dimensions in the description are out of whack.

The ad copy says
maker of the World's Finest Cutlery since 1845
It should say "maker of the World's Finest Cutlery from 1845 until 1983". Thats when the business was liquidated and the rights to the name were bought by Frost Cutlery. $400 for a Frost Cutlery product is highway robbery. Most current H & R fixed blades sell for under a hundred bucks. They are made under contract by knife manufacturers in several countries, including one or two on the other side of the Pacific.

It seems to me, that what you are paying for is the name-box-& presentation certificate & limited availability.

If you're in love with the design, for that kind of money, get Lamont Coombs to make you something similar. It'll be even better looking (can pretty much guarantee it) and made out of any material you want. It'll also be a far more "limited" offering of only one. :)
