Hi folks, thought I'd give posting a pic a try, so since this is my first Ring knife, it seems fitting:

let's see if this works...well, I'll be durned, it did!

The knife is made from BG-42 stainless steel with grip sclaes of red G-10. The blade is just about 2 inches long. A fellow down in Austria asked me to develpoe this knife for him - he's a fan of this design type - and although I was skeptical at first, the end result came out rather well.

Thanks for looking!

Bg-42 and a red handle, two of my favorite things to see on a knife. You did a rather fine job. I like it very much.

Just kidding :D
I like that knife very much...eh, wait, matter of fact, I OWN it :D ! Kevin did great work, was very nice to deal with, and shoots good pictures. Highly recommended!

Kevin,

Very nice. Really nice knife.

I have to say, while your designs are not far from centrist, you have a distinctive look, that is quite an accomplishment.

If I ever get over being cheap, I may own one.

Very cool looking knife! Way cool! Definitely one of the best-looking neckers I've seen. Boy, I wish more color would be used. It is so distinctive and so NOT black!

Was wondering price range, and if it would be possible to taper down the G-10 closer to the ring a bit. Also wondering about a 2/5" or 3" model.

That look like an ergonomic dream:) how much would that beauty set someone back?

Thanks to everybody for positive comments! And specially thanks to Judge who ordered the knife and asked for one in the ring-style. Without his input I wouldn't have tried this one in the first place.

It is certainly possible to make another knife similiar to this one using BG-42 or M2 steel. Grip material can vary as well, G-10, G-11, micarta, wood, etc. A three inch blade would work but that would be about max. length before the knife starts to loose it's proportions. Price on these knives with a Kydex or leather sheath, delivered to the USA, would run around $235. This is actually one of the most difficult knives to make I have tried and takes a lot more time than a normal Thorn. Each one is hand cut out, ground and finished.

If anyone has questions, feel free to email me. kvonp@snafu.de

Thanks again!
