In my mind, certain guns seems to just 'go' with certain knives. Examples:

Garand & KA-Bar
Dozier Pro Skinner & Remington 700 Synthetic in a large caliber.

Just my imagination? Or do others see gun/knife matches too?

I don't want my children fed or clothed by the state, but I would prefer THAT to their being educated by the state.

I can see.. Spyderco Endura and 1911 .45 - both are cheap and do the job, and will continue to do so for years to come.

As well, AFCK and Glock __ come to mind.

The ultimate combo for my lifestyle is a Briley "Plate Master" Steel Challenge 1911 and a prototype SPEEDTECH Synergy with a titanium handle and an Elishewitz handground damascus blade.

Stay sharp!

Benchmade 710 Axis-Lock and my Glock 23 (although I may be trading the Glock in for a Sig).

An older combo for me, dating back to when I'd got hunting with my Dad, would be a 4.5" Kabar deer knife and a single shot Remington .22 with a low power scope...

This is one of my favorite posts to date. This is how my collection is configured:
1.Win M70 Classic FWT .280 and Dozier Straight Hunter
2.Custom Springfield 1911A1 and REKAT Carnivour
3.Savage 110FP in Choate Ultimate Sniper Stock and Griffith Tactical Hunter
4.Rem 870, syn stock, Hastings scoped rifled barrel, Hastings trigger, and Chris Reeve Mountaineer 1
5.Beretta 686 Onyx Sporting and Hendrix Model 10 with curly maple handle (which I'll have when Wayne returns from guiding and answers all his e-mail!!)
6.Rem 1100 with scoped slug barrel and good old Precise Deer Slayer. This knife was my first hunter, given to me by my father. The 1100 was my first serious hunting gun, given to me by my best friend and hunting partner. The combination culminated in my first whitetail deer, an honest-to-God 16 point taken in Jackson County, Michigan. I still get a little misty thinking about it..

Ruger .41 MAg. Blackhawk and a Carson Big Hunter. They balance each other out.

Cheers,

ts
