First “real” knife

Thats a 1949 second gen Woodsman.
Rugers are great guns. The MK series receivers and bolt were inspired by Japanese Nambu’s but the internal/hammer/strut/spring design comes directly from John Moses Browning’s turn of the century (1914?) 22 auto, from which the Colt Woodsman’s design stems from.
You can do a trigger job on that Ruger that will get it down to 2lbs! Let me know if I can help.

I have a Ruger 5.5" heavy barrel 22 semi. It shoots real good and was a substitute for the High Standard Victor I have. I have had a couple Colt Woodsman's (sold or traded them) but never a Match Target which is what I really wanted. Then I decided that I was more of a Colt revolver guy and didn't pursue a Match Target after that point.

Of course the hunting trips and so forth were business expenses for Herters. Regardless, they still cost.
