I had fun with this project. I watched a video on youtube that was about 3min long and had down
the basic looping pattern pretty quickly. I wish I had some different colors to weave together. The
white is ok I guess but I'm going to weave some OD green together next.

I de-looped my BK16 sheath. There is approx 12 feet of paracord attached to my fire steel. I'm just going to throw it in my bag and if I ever am on the road and in need of cordage then I can just unwrap it.

Nice work, and fyi, a dual color weave doesn't usually work too well with the double helix knot. A weave and center strand being different colors works qute well, but the actual weave you have to be really careful with to make it look good.

Here's one I just made

Nice! Kinda crooked like my first few. Took me a while to figure out how make a smooth and symmetrical twist. The knots I posted above are kinda crooked. Since then I've made about a dozen more and with practice I've gotten a little better. Now to learn the cobra stitch.

It's not crooked I just reversed the rotation a cuple times.

The cobra stitch / portugese sinnet / solomon bar - is the same basis for what you are making. Right now you tie all the knots to the same side, which makes the twist - just alternate the direction you tie the knot each time and you get a straight bar.
