First Folding Saw: Silky Super Accel 210 vs Big Boy 360?

I want to get a folding/packing saw that will do pretty much everything. I know the 360 can do really big logs if need (which does happen every so often when can't run a chainsaw) but the 210 will probably do most anything for firewood processing. Should I go with the bigger 360 and know it can do everything, or save a few ounces and go with the smaller 210? I don't do any super long hiking and no more than 2-3 days max on trips.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Hawk

I carry the Super Accel 210 when backpacking. Any other time, I go with the Zubat fixed blade (I believe it's 330mm). It weighs double what the 210 does, but the grip is really comfy and the cutting stroke much longer. I was glad I had the Zubat when a thick log blocked a wilderness river we were rafting in AK. The 210 would have worked but the Zubat went through it with a lot less effort.

I'd split the difference & go with the Ultra Accel 240, or GomBoy 240 for packing ease compared to the BigBoy.

Well I obviously haven't been keeping current. I didn't even know about the new Ultra Accel 240. I like the size and curved blade---very nice. The only downside I can see would be for backpacking. The website at which I looked listed it at 13 oz and the SA210 at 8 oz. But for car, atv, horse or raft/canoe camping, the UA240 would be fine.

Thanks for bringing up this newer model!

Thanks guys. I ordered the Bigboy 360 with large teeth. Figure I'll give it a shot and if it's too big it will get relegated to non-packing/truck camping. Then I'll assess the next size to try. Should save some axe time on trips this winter.
