First time making a handle

I decided to try my luck at making a handle from an old broken handle. It was for a smaller hatchet head that a guy threw in when I purchased a Collins hatchet from him. The handle is about 11 inches long. Thought I would try a hatchet handle first before I try an axe handle. I attempted my first handle for this hatchet head and just didn't like the shape and length so I decided to make another. This one turned out pretty good I think. It didn't quite fill in the top of the eye but it is solid. No name on the hatchet head, kind of a different design with bevels on the cheeks. I'm very pleased with it for my 2nd attempt and it is very satisfying knowing it was handmade. I know I have a long way to go but it was fun and rewarding.

Well done, I respect a "make something out of it" mentality. Looks plenty comfortable!!
Thanks!! It's a small hatchet but I didn't want the handle to be too thin so I made it a little thicker at then end. Feels good in the hand.

Awesome little hatchet head, never seen another like it.
Reminds me of a miniature Maine wedge pattern.

Not bad on the handle either.
