Any of you guys out there carrying around Fisher Space Pens. There seem to be several different varieties or models of them out there. There's a bullet style, a twist open/close style, and a 'clickie' style. At least these are the ones I've noticed. Which style do you carry & use and do you like it? Did you pick your style over the others for any reason? I'm not sure which one I want to get. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

I carry a Bullet as my EDC pen. I rotate between a black and a chrome. Black for evryday. Chrome for dressed up. I chose the Bullet because of its size. It fits in the coin pocket of jeans and sits at the bottom of dress pants nicely. The Bullet comes with a pocket clip but I trashed mine because I really didn't see a need for it.

There are a whole bunch of models, the bullets are popular because they are easy to carry, compact and fit fine in a pocket, I have an Astronaut model (the original model that went to the moon) this one is very solid and reliable, I also have some economy models that I bought on sale from a place that was closing, they were cheaper than refills, these are OK but not particularly fine, good if you like the refills and don't want to spend on the pen.

Note that all the 'normal' ones (not the three color, econo or millenium huge ones) use the same refills. So performance in writing is pretty much the same, you just have to pick your favorite wrapper.

They aren't as smooth as modern gel pens, but they do write on just about anything and upside-down and in the cold etc...

I've got a couple of bullet pens, and carry one all the time. If you get one, get fine refills for it. The medium blobs up too much.

I EDC a chrome version of the "military" space pen (push in/push out clicky). Used to use a bullet, but for me I didn't like how fat the pen felt in the hand or how if you lay it on any type inclined surface, away she'll roll. Guess I also like the one hand operation of the military.

Obviously the bullet does have a massive following though:) No matter, that are all high on the cool gadget factor.

I carry a chrome X-750. About six years ago I found it on the ground after a party, nobody ever came back looking for it, and it therefore became mine. Previous to this pen I had one of the bullet pens which I lost, therefore I think the pen-god decided it was time for me to get a new one.

As far as performance of the pen is concerned - it seems to depend on the ink cartridge I put in there. Occassionaly I get one that seems to "glop" the first time I use it after a time of non-use, but overall the cartridges (especially all of them recently) seem to not have this problem but instead deliver a constant and good amount of ink that makes for smooth and bold writing (I like the medium point cartridges).

In terms of size, this pen is excellent. It's real short when being carried but it can be elongated (by putting the cap on the back) when you actually want to write. I put it in my pocket and then forget that it's there until I need it (and occassionally don't recognize when it falls out of my pocket, which means that it's good at not being noticed, but bad about warning you when it's about to be lost!).

I don't think you can go wrong by getting this pen. It's pretty cheap for what it is and overall a good buy.

I find they all blob up too much. I bought a Fisher pend and frankly don't get what all the fuss is about.

In the cold! Yes ,that's what I need. I work outside all Winter long and hate it when I have to stop to warm up my pen to be able to write. Everybody seems to like the bullets. Maybe I'll start there. I appreciate all the great feedback on this item. Thanks to everybody!

I've got two bullets and carry one pretty much every day. They aren't fancy but they always write and they're small enough that I don't mind carrying one.

The telsecoping model is the same size as the bullet. But can be opened via pulling the top end where the writing tip will be exposed. Much quicker and more convenient to use. I keep it in a front pocket leather wallet right next to an SAK and $ and credit cards. Pretty trick item, but totally functional. I prefer the fine point blue refills.

I carry the telescoping aluminum space pen everywhere I go. It rides in my pocket with a v'nox alox electrician and my usb drive.

It's a bit scratched up (but doesn't show it like a chrome bullet) but never lets me down. I was lucky enough to drop it the first day I owned it so I wasn't afraid if it got further beat up ;)

It's held up the best to daily pocket rides of any fisher I've had.

I live and die by the military style clicky model. The bullet style was just too short for my hands.

I've had four fishers. Two had a tendency to glob. Two did not. Luck of the draw, I guess.

Black Bullet in my Mission Wallet, clicky Military in my vest.

For a gooddeal, go to Rite in the Rain site and order the $10 special, which is some of their notebooks and a Military clicky model Space Pen. At least they ahd it last time I checked.

That's where I got my mine.

The ink blobs up on mine also. Are they any good refills out there. The ones that come in pen aren't that great.

I carry a chrome bullet in my left front pocket. It has very smooth contours so it never bothers me, but is always there when I need a pen.
