After the posts a couple weeks ago about the Fiskars brush axe, I decided to purchase one. After using it I was impressed by its capabilities. So to assist with being able to carry it into the woods with me I crafted a sheath for it. No where near the quality of other folks on here, but it seems it will work. Hopefully the picture shows up.

very nice sheath, looks secure.

is that the belt loop there? is it meant to be carried horizontally or is it setup to be carried on a pack?

The leather band that you see around the sheath serves a dual purpose. First it helps to insure that the tool won't fall out of the sheath. Secondly it provides a place to connect a corded harness to assist in carrying it like a backpack.

In this picture you can see how it can be carried like a backpack, demonstrated with a woodworking support.

This picture shows how the band is held in place and how the harness is threaded into it.

Any advice on a better way to execute this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
