I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this happen. When the knife is in my pocket (and some other times) the safety will slide into the "locked" position. Is there a way I can immobilize it? I've heard that a dab of super glue works, but I'm not sure where to position that dab of glue. Thanks in advance.

I would not use superglue. If you do you will permanently glue the safety and possible some other parts in place. If you want to do something like that I would recommend something like hot melt glue. It won't spread inside the knife and if you ever want you can remove it and use the safety again.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into the hot melt glue option then.Where would I place the glue - right in the opening?

I didn't try this but the last time I had mine apart (to clean out the lint) it looked like you could just pull out that safety bar and put it back together. Its very easy to do and I don't see why it won't work.

The only problem with this is that you'll have a bigger opening for stuff to get inside the handle.

If you do this just watch out for a very small ball bearing. This is what makes the safety "click" on and off. You'll need this if you want to put your safety back in, otherwise the safety will just be floating.

Thanks for the information. I think I'll try the hot glue method first. I don't feel comfortable taking it apart, being it's AO, unless I have to.

I understand but as long as you remember to have the knife open when you split the handle (to release the spring tension), everything will stay where it's supposed to. Just watch out for that little ball bearing I was talking about.

Put a drop of hot glue on in the hole and when it dried I touched it up with a black Sharpie and now you can't even tell it's there. Thanks Chris and blue.

What worked well for me is sticking a standard size BB in that slot.. BB fits very snug and will not fall out.. But you can remove it when you want and not damage the knife..

If I remember correctly... I believe you can take the knife apart and put it back together without the safety at all.
