I have often wondered why the floating fish knife that I used to use when I was a kid has disappeared from modern production.

These knives were once very popular, and there are some cool examples still ‘floating around’. Being slender and lightweight, they make a great addition to the tacklebox or the fly vest.

It would be cool if a new version of these was to be produced.

When I was a kid, there was also a similar knife available, only without the rounded corners and which was marked like a ruler. One side was labelled Honest Fisherman's Inches, which were marked with regular inches. The other side was marked Dishonest Fisherman's Inches, where each 1/2 inch was marked as being 1 inch.

Wish I had one now.

They're still available on eBay.

I believe Helle’s Hellefisk knife has cork handle and it floats. It has very nice traditional looks to it too.

Interesting they're still using real cork.
I don't now why I say "still", since my old ones are wood. I'll try to find them.
I have a samurai style and a ruler style, but they aren't where they should be.]

All the comedians out of work! Well, some people live and learn; others just live.

I'm guessing that wasn't a compliment. :(
I just thought it was funny that you said a cork knife keeps popping up on the bay.
You know... It fell off your boat, but don't worry it will pop back up... on the bay?

I was referring to myself (some people) as an accidental out of work comedian who stumbled on to a punch line.
