Having become a bit of a blade snob, I am finding the gun shows and shops in my general area (all of Central to South Florida) to be a bit lacking. Sure they have the obligatory BMs, ZTs and Kershaws, but that is usually about it. Anybody have any shop/show recommendations in this general area?

Thanks,

that's nothing, here in NC your lucky to see BM's or Zero tolerance. i noticed one dealer at the last show had a couple of ZT's but that's it..once in a blue moon one lady will have a used Chris Reeve.. mainly spyderco's or china knives.........No knife shop's that i know of.............

vicbastige, sorry I can not help you down in Florida, but for the folks living in the tri-state area, there are some good shows. I "think" the one in Wilmington is a C&E production, some knife dealers have a ton of old Buck, Case, & Schrade items, Bill Goodman's is another, several of the dealers there also have a lot of the old collectables, & there are some high end knives as well. Sorry I could not help your locale, but for anyone in this region, good buys are available. Good luck.
Be safe.

so true

I have a pretty decent knife store where in St Augustine but its small they don't carry all of the models that a maker has but they have a decent selection. Most of the gun stores here have a good amount of knives to choose from. We have an ace hardware store that carry brand name knives. Maybe check out stores like that in your area. Most of the time I order mine from somewhere. I know Jacksonville has some excellent knife stores. But that's a long way for you to go I'm sure. I don't know much about what's available in Orlando.

Hi Vic, I'm down in south palm beach county & usually hit the fairgrounds gun & knife show. Usually see good selections of spyderco benchmade kershaw, etc. I go mainly to find a table or person selling something really good that is willing to offer it at a realistic price. I found a small sebbie in bg-42 new in box with all papers for 200.00 could not pass that up. bargains like that are not the norm but once in a while it happens. As far as stores go only gun stores have carried anything of quality although their prices are full retail plus plus. Andy.

I sell at the orlando and deland gun and knife shows. they have people with a big selection of randell knifes and I know of some knife makers that sell at the show there to. they have I belive all of the knife brands there at the show. If one dealer does not have it then another dealer will. the next orlando gun and knife show is jan, 01,02 so come one down just to say hi. If you are looking for a certain knfe then find a dealer that has that brand and ask him if he will order it for you.

Quite lacking in my area as well, which is Central Florida

The Suncoast gunshow has a single dealer there everytime with a pretty wide selection of Spyderco, BM, ZT, Microtech, CRK's
They even have a 4holed ATR, which is the Ti Compression ATR.

is that the one in tampa? I am at the one in orlando and I see a bunch of dealers with big name brand knifes all of the time

The Gator Cutlery Club show at the end of Jan. has tons of stuff. There are alot of makers that show up as well as dealers who carry CRK, Strider, EKI, and such. One gentleman always sets up several tables with dozens of high end customs including at least 10-20 custom Emersons. It runs fri., sat., and sunday at the Lakeland center.

No special shops here in Pinellas county either. I usually check in to a local Army navy surplus store to see if they branched out from their CRKT Buck Spyderco and china made's. and a place called Bill jacksons witch sticks to Buck and Benchmades it seemed like the last time i was there

Thanks for all the tips fellas. Used the search function to find this place in Miami:

I have no affiliation whatsoever, but this was precisely the type of shop I was looking for!

Can't tell you about knife shows, but if you're in central FL and you drive into Lake County, go just outside of Umatilla to RUFF'S SADDLE SHOP, 20747 WIYGUL ROAD, UMATILLA, FL, 32784.

They are a custom saddle maker, but one entire wall of the shop is dedicated to folders & fixed blades. Decent prices for a B&M and a good selection. It's well worth a trip over there but it's a few miles out in the country so you'll need to use a GPS or call for directions.

They're listed on Spyderco's dealer page if you need a phone number.

Wow...awesome! I have been going to http://www.arizonashootingrange.com/ It's a good place to see and handle knives, but their prices aren't too good. Most of the guys don't seem to know too much about knives, so you can find some rare discontinued pieces.

Do you know if bladeart iis strictly a mail/internet order place or do they have a storefront as well?
