I recently moved to West Palm Beach (Wellington to be exact) and was wondering if there were any schools in the area. I'm willing to drive up to an hour away for training (down to about Coconut Grove or N. Miami).

Thanks!

I don't know about FMA around here at all but there is a good judo school down on S. Dixie, an aikido school on Old Okeechobee and, somewhere, there is still a Northern Shaolin Kung Fu school taught by Dale Mcnaughton who is a disciple of Gene Chiquoine and General Chang. Dale's school used to be on the corner of Forest Hill and Jog but he has disappeared into the ether. A friend of mine tells me that he is still in the area and still teaching though.

Other than that, the only good martial arts school that comes to mind is a Wing Chun school down in Pembroke Pines. Somewhere down south aways there is a Mantis school as well....

Yeah, so, this has nothing to do with FMA, sorry about that. But, as I am in the area I figured I'd tell you what I knew about.

Hi! You can always visit the Philippines to learn FMA. If you're interested you can contact me. I'll be honored!:)

hi i am a close student of Guru Abon Baet...his Garimot System is truely a complete art or a truely mixed martial arts but all originating in the Philippines.
he is the only person i know who teaches the grappling arts of the Mangyan tribes of the Philippines. this is a tribal art that is usually never taught outside of their village unless you are a close friend to them.

good luck on your search.

I met GatPuno Baet and some of his students at a SamaSama in Orlando. His system is excellent and he is a very enjoyable person to be around. He is also a Hilot practitioner and he has alot of good stories!

Hi:

Thanks for the recommendations. I contacted a Victor Rivera of Cross Training Martial Arts in Wellingotn and awaiting a reply. Anyone heard of him?

I stopped by the address listed on some FMA website and came across a Royler Gracie seminar! The instructor of the BJJ is Mauricio Villardo and I'll probably check out his calss on Wednesday. I'd still like to take FMA and looking for more info.

Thanks again!
