Folding hunters

I was in the mood to look at some folding hunters this morning. I went to look for the folding hunter thread and couldn’t find it.

For the life of me I thought there was one. Well since I couldn’t find it I thought I would start one. If one does exist I apologize.

I took some quick photos of my small accumulation. The 110’s I use to carry all the time but haven’t in several years since I started ccw. I’ve been thinking of trying on my weak side. I just like the 110.

The 2 blades I’ve never attempted to carry but always liked them.

Aesthetically, the Case Folding Hunter '65 patterns and similar patterns from Queen and others are probably my favorite traditional pattern, even though I seldom have a need for a knife that big. I like the Buck 110/111 patterns as well. I need to take more photos of others I have stashed away, but here are some pics for now. I carry the Case 6265 SAB from 1965 everyday, BTW.

Very nice. Yes the 65 pattern is a great pattern. I’ve always like the Case 65 with the scrimshaw on them.

I have a 1967 Buck 110 and a carbon steel Rough Rider. I'd kind of like to get a Case chestnut jigged bone CV folding hunter, but even if I could find one, I don't think it would fit my budget.

The Case can be found at reasonable prices but it takes time. The Buck is out there but not as reasonable. The USA Schrade brand variations are available at good prices.

Are my eyes lying to me? Is that a Western 062 I see?

Here's mine. A "D" date code 062. Your bolsters and shield are a tad prettier. One of the former owners engraved our name on mine, long before I got it.

(I added the Western long after the referenced thread was created.)
