I recently put together a inexpensive folding knife kit. The fit and quality of the parts was pretty sad. Kinda like a freebie.
I'd like to find something of better quality that I wouldn't be ashamed to show.
Anyone know or have experience with a brand like that?
Not ready to create one from raw materials.

Rough Rider make a selection of kits, mainly traditional riveted construction. And the multiple blade kits can be used to make single bladed knives if that's what you prefere.
A great inexpensive way of learning.

My daughter and I built a few of them. Great fun and time spent together.

A Rough Rider Buck 110 copy kit & a couple of their multi blade kits put together using single blades.
Rather than using the laminated wood supplied in the kits I used some Briar root (washed up on the beach, Mediterranean).

I made these a few years ago & learnt loads doing them like the pivots pins can be enlarged & the holes filed in any direction you want to get things fitting better, that's the reason for the brass pivot pins as I didn't have any (very gold looking?) Nickel silver.
Successfully made some of my own folders from scratch after making these.
