folding knives will ball bearings

I get your point... I'm seriously lacking in the knife information department...

I don't have enough time in my life to spend hours looking for this online. Also, not the easiest searches to yield results... assitance would be appreciated. Feel free to belittle me : )

There's a lot out there my friend, mainly because there's 2 types, washers and bearings. We can't name them all.

Glad you got the joke. Start with brand Civivi. Thy make quite a few with ball bearing pivots.
I second this. If it's a folding CIVIVI it's almost certain to have a ceramic ball bearing pivot and they have the added benefit of being not terribly expensive and very well made. They're a good avenue to try out a bearing pivot knife and see if they're for you.

Google “KVT knives”, it should give you results with Kershaw or maybe ZT models with ball bearings.
Picture section of ”IKBS knives” search will give you results with some CRKT, Boker and other companies, using this type of ball bearing system.
Also, most of the big knife manufacture sites have filters and often you can filter all ball bearing models.

Civivi made in china... that just thwarted my impulse buy.

And I'm thinking I know a reason why I haven't seen these ball bearing knives... they're all liner/frame locks. Those locks don't suit me too well unless it's a box cutter...

Requirements:

<= $100
not made in china
flipper
high edge retention steel like S30V or M4 (on 2nd thought, this req probablly isn't compatible with #1 on this list)
< 3" blade

Thank you everyone!

Leading off with your requirements would help you get better suggestions to begin with. As stated above, most online knife retailers let you filter your searches with all of those requirements in there.

Maybe check out SOG's XR flippers? They have bearing pivots, and the XR lock is a sliding bar lock, similar to the axis lock. Some are made in Taiwan with good steel, and many are in your price range.
