Anyone see the Forged in Fire knife offered on TV commercials lately? Looks like the producers of the show have sold the rights to the "Forged in Fire" name. The commercial shows the knife cutting thru all kinds of stuff, including a block of ice.
This has got to be some Chinese stainless junk.

Commercialism, the person who came up with this idea should be brought onto the show and test it themselves, see what the results would be, only to hear, "it will not cut, it will not keeeeel. The judges have made their decision, please throw out your weapon in the nearest trash can." :p

I wont buy a mystery "surgical stainless" knife.

If you can't and won't tell me what steel you used, I don't really want it.

And I'm not even a steel snob. I still buy "low end streel" but I have to know what it is.

So a knife that was inspired by a knife show ? This brings new meaning to the words LAME, and sellout. If the Blade smiths of the show were dead they would be rolling in their graves. I like how they had to glue the tomato to the cutting board LOL. They would make a thousand times the money if they sold the actual knives that the contestants made and I would buy one that Doug gave his stamp of approval on, It Willl Cut:thumbsup:. Bet they show up at Wally Mart next week.

It is exactly what happened to the tattoo industry. Those ridiculous shows took the artistry out of large percentage of the business. Reality shows ruin everything.
I agree that Reality shows ruin everything and that's why I gave up Gold mining, King crab fishing and living off the grid with my home schooled family in Alaska and Oh I almost forgot about Tuna fishing in New England. :D

Two knives for $30 is is not a bad deal despite the merchandising hype. Check back here when you get them.
I agree $30 bucks for two possibly decent kitchen knives with a Forged in Fire™ Cutlery 50 Year Warranty is Worth the gamble and it looks like It will Cut!

I disagree, actually. I think that artistry in both tattooing and bladesmithing is flourishing thanks to media attention. More people are becoming interested as consumers in seeking quality products and more artistically minded individuals are being exposed to a potential new medium that they might not have ever been exposed to. Does this mean more mediocre products in both fields? Of course. However, it also means more highly gifted people potentially breaking the glass ceiling of what we thought possible in both arenas. New forms of tattoo artistry we never imagined we'd be able to wear, new concepts in blades that we never even knew we needed.
