Hey this is my first knife review but more importantly my first post in blade forums!
So I decided I wanted to purchase a Karambit, for EDC and on duty after seeing an article about one in the American Handgunner "Personal Defense" magazine. I started doing research and naturally the knife that stood out was the Emerson Combat Karambit. However; I quickly found out that it was hard to find, as it seems everyone had it on backorder.
The only other option I found was the Fox Knives Karambit. I had a hard time finding reviews on this knife because it was also difficult to locate, and Fox Knives is based out of Maniago, Italy. It has the patented Emerson Wave feature which attracted me to the Emerson Karambit and it was much cheaper, and available. I figured if Emerson is willing to put his name on this knife it is probably not anything to scoff at. So after a long decision process I decided on the Fox.
I paid $121.00 for it and purchased it from www.renutechsolutions.com which is what the American Handgunner magazine plugged in the article, I figured it was a safe bet.
I am very happy with this knife. Many reviews I read would not give much to go by, and everyone seemed to know someone that had this knife or have seen it somewhere as opposed to owning it first hand, so I thought I would write a review when I got mine.
I am no knife expert, but in my opinion this knife is awesome. It feels great in the hand. The G10 handle is very grippy and the circular loop on your finger is comfortable. There is absolutely no blade play up, down, left, right it is solid. The blade is centered perfectly in the knife (which I try to show in the pics), the liner lock activates immediately and feels very strong. Once again I kept finding reviews where people mention the liner lock on this knife is poor, and that is just not true, at least for this particular knife.
The wave feature works incredibly, It is more fun then I imagined and also quite intimidating, but I feel confident it will open when I need it to.
This knife sort of has a full hilt on it, as you can see. So when it is closed, not in your pocket, and you have your index finger on the back of the grip on the hilt part that sticks through a quick push and quick wrist flick, it opens right up.
The pocket clip can be mounted on either side of the handle, which is nice... Right now I don't really have anything else I literally just got the knife a few days ago, so if anything new comes up I will edit this. Thanks for reading guys, let me know if you have any questions or need any other pictures.
