Fox knife karambit 599 or fox dart knife ?

I've got a DART and the quality is excellent, much better than the Emersons I've handled, with a ring I can actually get my index finger into, and I don't have large hands. I've never tried the 599 or their other more traditional k-bits, but would expect the quality to be the same, and without the chisel-grind Emerson uses. I think the DART's blade is more versatile in the defensive role and explain my reasons in this post.

Thank you for all the info. As you can tell I'm really new to this so I'm still feeling my way around. The Emerson's are to pricey for my budget. After much consideration I feel the fox 599 will suit my needs, I may mod the tip a bit however I will own the dart someday as well. Your input is so appreciated thank you so much Semper Fi

I've got kerambits from both Fox and Emerson. Fit and finish is certainly better on the Fox knives, but there are some design features that I preffer on Emersons. For instance, the ring on Fox kerambits are thin which makes some extended grip techniques difficult, I wish they'd extend the G-10 to cover the ring like Emerson does. Other than that minor, and perhaps purely based on personal preference, flaw I think you'll really like the 599 kerambit (or its excellent fixed blade brother!). Fox rings are larger than Emerson's, a plus if you've got large hands.
The DART is certainly an interesting knife, since it has a conventional blade its main advantage over the 599 is that you can get more use out of it for daily cutting tasks. It doesn't handle like a kerambit, nor do traction cuts and other kerambit/hawkbill techniques translate well to it. Do watch Marcaida's videos on the knife.
So, to summ up, if you want a kerambit go with the 599 if you're looking for an EDC knife that has sime extra self defence features, get the DART.

Franciscomv doug marcaida is what got me in this mess to begin with lol I like both so much and agree with your entire post but I have Not handled either fox knife I think the 599 would be my best bet first followed by the dart ( I'll face facts I have a love affair with knives and am not sorry for it) but I wanted to make a well educated choice. Wish there was a vendor in my area so I could put hands on so I've left decision in more educated hands such as yourself. Thanks for the pic too that helped alot. Don't think you can really go wrong with either the Emerson or Fox. I carry my Fox 478 all the time. The one thing I like about it over the Emerson is the ergo's.
