I've posted this before and for all you folks who keep sayin' you're gonna hafta start an inventory of your collection. Well there's no excuse now. If you suck at spread sheets and your collection's too big to hand write with real pictures in an envelope than this app's most definitely for you, it's called Sort It! And just click on the app's name in blue and it'll take you right to the site.
I think one of the problems people have just checkin' it out is because they can't imagine what it looks like. So here are some screen caps so you can get an idea of what it's like.
A great free app for knife collectors it allows you to take a pic, add the knife to a catalog/inventory on your phone and internet that's backed up and updated regularly. The nice thing is you can download/email/forward or whatever a text copy of the catalog.
Again the app for makin' an inventory of your knives using your phone is called Sort It! (click on the link to check out their site)
It even allows you to share your collection on social media and you can view and edit your collection on line with your computer too.
Sorry to sound like a broken record but this app is so great for people like us so I have to share. With your phone and this app you can take a pic of a knife, look it up on the internet and if you find it download the specs to your inventory spec page on the phone app. Plus there's spots for notes and customization on the free version and a lot more on the bought upgrade but honestly you could get by fine with the freeware. Click on this link to take you to the thread with some screen caps of the app from my iphone.
Here's the screen caps, feel free to ask any questions, I've been using it for 2 years or so now and it's a great app for collectors, there's even a lot of other collector's inventory apps available for free from them.
First 2 pics are of the 2 home scenes you access it through. One is like a a spreadsheet and the other like photo album.
Click on any knife on either page and you get the knife specifics and specs with a front and rear pic availabe for reference
Plenty of control on how it looks, for free there's still a lot you can change.
The ability to create a wish list with pics and info,
Some of the options on the free version.
Some of the many collectors apps they have available.
Hope this helps some of you folks out and you finally get that inventory goin' that you keep puttin' off
