Hey guys
Anyone have a freeman knife 451 button lock . Looks like nice knife . pros and cons
thanks

I have one. It's a good knife, very smooth and easy to open and close and very sturdy. It's usually my weekend knife.

I had one. It has a very unique action and fantastic ergonomics, and I think the build quality for the money is just incredible. If you value those things more than how well a knife might cut, then I'd say go for it.

However, the blade is the most apt example of "sharpened prybar" I've ever seen, so if you value being able to cut things efficiently then I'd look elsewhere. It makes a Benchmade Adamas look thinly ground. I swear, the edge is like .080"+ thick, and mine took me hours to reprofile on a KME because of how much steel needed to be removed to get to a reasonable edge angle. I couldn't handle it and eventually sold it.

The thing that confuses me is that the knife uses stainless steel bearings combined with a blade that is apparently made for prying. I just don't get some of the design choices behind this knife.

With that being said, if he made a version with a more acute primary grind angle and a thinner edge, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I love mine with, an older model in d2 with carbon fiber inlays. They are very hard to find, Jeff's website has them as out of stock. If you can get one though it's an amazing knife.

It is a big heavy beast of a blade, and every attention went to fit and finish. The ridges on the surface of the blade dont bind up and dont really add anything other than aesthetics. The pocket clip is very strong and secure. The button lock and flipper combo is a great match, and it flips like a gulitine. The open design is a breeze to clean. Very comfortable in a forward or hammer grip, not so much in a reverse grip.

Overall it's one if my most cherished blades, but I rarely carry it just due to the size and weight. In the winter I notice it in my pocket much more often.

I have had two, just one now. They are awesome. Sold the black aluminum black g10 S35VN here on the exchange, and now have a full TI s35vn. They both have super smooth action, fit and finish.
Seen Freeman's Instragram and he is making a similar looking folder in the 3" range.

Nice. You got one of the earlier ones with the higher primary grind, finer striations, and thinner edge, it looks like. Seems like he change the bevel geometry a couple of times since then.

Not a ton to add here, my Freeman 451 is stupid smooth, and quite affordable in the scheme of things...but it will be getting a regrind at some point;)

(I'm just bumping the lock enough to release here, not holding it)
