Literally (like yesterday) just watched an episode of "How It's Made" about these knives and thought it would be cool if you did an in depth article about it.

I'd still like to see something really tough like aeb-l get this treatment, but done by Larrin Larrin instead of a 3rd party/corp
 
There were a number of threads about the process posted in 2007. I don't remember hearing much subsequent to that. If memory serves, one of the developers of the process participated in at least one of the threads. I think it was the CATRA testing thread started by Cliff Stamp. :

Yes I cited the thread where Phil posted his testing results.
 
I tried one of Cliff's blades years ago. It was too thick for a small blade so I didn't have a good impression of the knife as a whole. It would probably be quite different if it had been ground to less than 0.03" behind the edge.
