A search didn't come up with anything, so just a quick post about my Spartan's terribly gritty action. Finally got off my butt and opened up my Spartan. To no surprise the surface of the lock bar that rides on the tang looked like a railroad track. I have a mild abrasive wheel for my dremel which removed the chatter marks in a few minutes of careful work. Note its not important for this face of the lock bar to be completely flat, just get the chatter marks removed wherever they may be then a light polish (if your anal). Totally smooth now, the dremel saved so much time its worth the cost if you don't have one. Now It only needs a hole for thumb studs. Later

no pics, I started out using sand paper on a flat surface but the grit was to fine. thats why i switched to the dremel. I think sanding and polishing on a flat surface would be best.
