So, comment whats fun about one of your knives, Like throwing your cold steels or flippin your butterfly.
What I find makes me smile every time is using the pocket hook on my ridiculous 6" unassisted stiletto.
It's just so stupid and ridiculously huge.

It's just fun for me to chop off stray vines and branches off bushes that grow into the sidewalk while I'm walking my dog.

Starting campfires with a blade and fire starter or hacking off my neighbors pomegranate branches hanging over my fence.

Releasing the lock and watching that blade fall back into the handle ever so gracefully with just the slightest nudge.

I can relate to that haha

My Cold Steel Ti Lite is stupid fun, just for sh***s and giggles.

Otherwise, shaving post-its into the thinnest shreds possible.

Opening the kids Christmas gifts is my top favourite use.
Reaching into my pocket and feeling it there is most comforting.

Using my amazing 3v slimline machetes for the first time after a good sharpening and see/feel how easily it slices through the vines. Or slicing through a tight group of hundreds of soft weeds, and the feel of it gliding through. I don't think it is much fun after a solid hour of dealing with the damn blackberry invaders, spreading across the farm like a weed!
Another is just feeling the perfect and smooth operation of an extremely well built custom folder. Opening, closing, lockup, etc. All of it is great. Or getting the first major cutting task after buying a brand new knife.

Hooking up electrodes to Ti framelocks and then grabbing the handle.

Flipping people off with my flippers.

Mostly, sitting around flicking and flipping.

I enjoy opening boxes for people, then laughing when I accidentally cut into what they ordered. Thank God that Amazon doesn't sell hamsters.

Watching others around me using their teeth to try to open a beef jerky while I pull out my SAK and cut it open lickety split. Do that enough and more people might actually start carrying their own knife.

Oops wrong section. :)

Just plain using my knife every chance I get, weather or not I really had to use my knife.
For example cutting open food boxes ( mac and cheese, cereal, crackers...ect all come in them ) there made to open easily, but it's more fun and takes less effort to use my knife.
I also love the first time a brand new knife is used for a real task ( sometimes I'll buy some random cheap thing so I have something to open with my new knife 😁 )
And while it's not a knife I have an old first gen Gerber multitool that I love to just sit around and flick open ( my dad wore the blade out and broke the small Flathead somehow so it's not so useable anymore )

Does anyone else like to use their knife to cut things open even when a knife isn't needed ?

Well Hick, those Mac and Cheese boxes often don't cooperate for me, so I'll use a knife and get it done. I don't know just using a knife is 'fun' per se. I just use the knife as the tool it's meant to be.

Cutting through shrink-wrapped pallets/items at the warehouse while the other guys bust out their car keys.

I got a nearby dirt trail that gets overgrown with thorns and saplings. I used to clean it up with my Vaquero Grande.

I love pushing the button on my OTF, and hearing that THWACK. I just like sitting on the couch and opening & closing it. It makes me smile every time.
