Funny Sushi video

Dude.
Japanese people DO NOT eat sushi every day.
Yes, sushi restaurants DO have waitresses.
(they also have coke, ice cream and cake, if you want)

all those rules, can you imagine ME putting up with that for 5 picoseconds?

That bit about soaking the sushi in soy sauce until it was noticably heavier was funny as hell.
oh man..

Very interesting, particularly noted the desire to ensure cleanliness in a shared group enterprise with the communal multipurpose dustcloth.

what do nissan sushi (in menus at end) taste like, look like they'll be kinda crunchy & metallic. probably expensive too, like everything else in japan.

I love how it says that the Geta(sp?) are sanitized after people wear them and before they serve sushi on them! Then it says this is why japanese people's feet often smell of vinegar:D

Great video:thumbup: :D

oh toh toh toh toh:)

Great video. Really well done. I know more than a few people that would think it was real.

If you tear open a freshly caught fish and eat the raw flesh right then and there is it still considered sushi or is the rice and condiments an absolute must? ;) Or would you just be considered uncouth and uncivilized? :D
What if you were just really hungry and this was the first food you had seen in several days, would that make a difference in how folks judged you?
Perhaps if you have a very sharp knife and cut the freshly caught fish just so, would that make it sushi or would you still be considered uncouth, uncivilized, or just really, really, hungry but with exemplary manners? :D

My friends used to eat scallops right out of the shell while the muscle was still contracting (with a bit of wasabi and lemon). I would like to try this too. I also have the urge to chop into a live fish and eat it on the spot--don't know why:confused:

Yvsa, I believe sushi actually refers to the type of rice and style of serving it, and not raw fish at all. That is sashimi.

Thanks for a funny video, danny.

Well I didn't know what I was describing really had a name.;) :)
I was just being sort of a smartass and you guys took me serious.;)

I absolutely love raw oysters and clams fresh from the sea, especially with a drop or two of Tabasco and plenty of good cold beer. :D
I've also eaten raw fish in the form of sushi but didn't particularly care for it although I may have liked another species of fish.
I'd really like to try some raw tuna sometime. I just have a hard time thinking about eating any fish rare though like I see tuna cooked mostly.
I like it canned but I don't care for it baked. Lightly fried on all sides may be just the ticket for tuna though.
I'm pretty open minded about food until I decide I just absolutely don't like something and there's not much I don't like.

I'd really like to try some of the Cerviche that seems to be served all around the South American tropics, especially the conch Cerviche in the Caribbean, something just sounds like it would be delicious!!!!

Yvsa, next time you're in Miami :D I recommend "El Chalon" on Bird Road. It's a Peruvian place with an emphasis on ceviche (fish, shrimp, conch, etc. *pickled* not cooked in a strong lime solution).

It might not be too hard to do this at home, but when you go there, try their amazingly hot green sauce and wash it down with an Inca Cola. Tastes like cotton candy, but hey, when in Rome...

I was just down there for xmas, didn't get any Peruvian, but lots of good Cuban cooking, including a whole pig with the head on for nochebuena. I'll post pix.

Dangit, should have carved it with a khukuri. I brought one... no, two.

Mike

ma maa maa ma...

I have one of those already.......begs for breakfast every morning. :D

conch sandwiches along the road driving from Miami to Key West and back. Fresh bread, fresh conch.

Look for the shacks swathed in chicken wire. I don't know why but I guess it's the breeze makes these places special

In Hawaii they have a dish called Poke which is a similar lime juice/onion raw fish type thing...very tasty!!
