do any of you folks read this magazine?? i am thinking about ordering a copy or 2..it's hard to find around here for some reason...
i have only seen it a few times and have always thought it looked cool.. what do you all think of it??

cheers.. mike

It is often a really good magazine. Same supply problem here though, don't hardly ever find it on the magazine stands.

It's a old one that people around here used to read back in the day when fur trapping was common.
Since fur isn't worth trapping these days I think FF&G isn't as popular as it used to be back then. As it's pretty heavy into trapping.
Our local Walmart still carries it so I guess some still buy it. I just look at it in the store.
It does have some good hunting and outdoorsy stuff, though.

i've been subscribing to F-F-G for years. i love it! just a good all around out door mag. with everything from trapping to ice fishing.
i started getting it when i was a kid and trapping alot, still get it and i'm 37.
fur prices are actually pretty strong these days. especially over the past couple of years. this years prices are in doubt due to the world economy tanking. the prices were high because of the increase in the middle class in asia and russia, however there economy's are also suffering. go to furfishgame.com!

i just signed up for my second year of subscription. the articles are usually much more practical than some of the other hunting magazines that are just about ads and the latest greatest new type of camoflaged scent free outdoor underware, gizmo, etc. The only other magazine that I enjoy more is the BackWoodsman.

Great magazine! I've subscribed since I was a kid, I'm 44 now. Pretty trapping heavy.

very cool guys... thanks for all the responses... from what i have seen, the magazine definately has a strong emphasis on trapping... that doesn't matter, i am wanting something different to read...:)

i'll have to order a copy...

I've seen a couple a co-worker left laying around, it's interesting, trapping heavy as others have said but I enjoyed reading it!

Never seen it on any newstands or magazine racks.

Brian turned me onto a magazine called Fur Fishing Games, but I think that it's for a slightly different crowd. :D

"The Magazine for Practical Outdoorsmen", been subscribing for years. Occasionally glance thru a Cast&Blast but haven't seen anything to lure me from FFG.

I have been reading it for at least 10 years, and I love it. In New Hampshire you can buy it at most grocery stores, gas stations, book stores.ect. For the past 4 years my girlfriends grand father gave me his old issues, and after he passed away I got my own subscription. There is alot of information on fishing, hunting, ammunition, as well as great stories. You dont see many $2,500 rifles and such in it, so it is more on the practical side. joe

Man, I used to read that and had a subscription about 30 years ago. I didn't even know it was still around!

I used to read it all the time before the kids got me this computer. I really don't read much anymore and I should get back to it.

i really like the old lew and charlie stories. and of course all the trapping articles. yea it's still around. i have a few of the old hunter-trapper-trader magazines kicking around. that was the name of the magazine before it became fur-fish-game.
