Guarantee
All RICK HINDERER KNIVES products are guaranteed against material defects and workmanship, and they carry a life time warranty. Our guarantee is void if the knife has been abused beyond normal wear and tear, altered from their stock condition, or used beyond what are considered normal parameters for the tool. It will be left up to us whether to repair or replace damaged or defective items.

Warranty
As long as Rick is breathing we will warranty at no cost to you, any material defects or workmanship that have a direct effect on the usefulness of the tool, or it's intended purpose. Normal wear and tear issues like stripped screws, worn and scratched finishes, bent clips, blade wear, etc will fall under service/refurbishing, and there are fees associated. We also will not do warranty work on "pimped" or altered knives. Repairs to or work performed on your knife by any source other than us, voids the warranty. Our warranty does not cover damage caused by abuse, misuse, loss, improper handling, alterations, accident, neglect, dis-assembly, or improper sharpening. So if you have drilled any holes, interchanged parts between knives, installed parts that did not come from our shop including scales, screws, washers, etc, altered the knife with a file, sandpaper, dremel tool, or had the blade reground then your warranty is void. Our Warranty does not cover damage to your folding knife caused by batoning. We also do not cover lost parts like, screws, clips, Lock Bar Stabilizers, etc under warranty. If we determine that there is a defect in the materials or workmanship, we will repair, or replace the product at our discretion.

If we determine that it is something other than a defect in workmanship or materials, we will inform you if the product can be repaired and your cost. If your knife has been abused or has seen hard use for a long period of time, it is possible that the useful life of the product has been exceeded.

***A side note for those of you who can't flip your knife open to your liking, this is not a warranty or service issue. There are plenty of threads here on the subject as well as youtube videos that can help you. Oil, pivot adjustments, and technique is where you will find the answers.....The same goes for blade centering, lots of threads and info on the forums to help you out.

Knife Refurbishing

We will refinish a stock - unaltered knife for you, the cost for refurbishing varies depending on the work involved. We offer refurbishing for the follow 4 finishes - Bead Blast, Sand Blast, Working Finish and Tumbled, we no longer refurb satin blade or frame finishes. Most complete refurbs run around $65.00 + shipping. Before you send a knife to us, please contact us prior for details. We do refurbs when time and opportunity present themselves so we can provide a quick turnaround. It is not an open door policy, because there are times when we won't be able to get right to it and we don't want it to sit here in the shop.

*We no longer offer anodizing services*

Services we do not offer:

* We will not change the original finish, so for example we won’t tumble a knife that was originally blasted
* We do not do "custom" detent work, meaning we do not make detents lighter or stiffer, all folders are made to a certain spec, however it may not be absolutely perfect for "you". An example would be for those of you that have trouble flipping your knife without using wrist, we do not stiffen detents. Or in the case of someone who finds the detent too stiff, we do not lighten them either.
* We do not change or alter the lock bar engagement.
* We do not have a stripped screw removal service. Big boy rules apply, you strip it, you remove it.
* We do not do regrinds of any sort
* We do not mark blade steel types after the knife has left the shop
* We do not refinish or re-coat DLC coated knives.

"Pimped Knives" User modified or Altered

We are going to continue to stress that we will not work on pimped knives or altered knives, period. This includes refurb or warranty work. If your knife is left in stock condition, we will have your back, if you chose to modify it in anyway, please remember you are doing it at your own risk.

Knockoffs

RICK HINDERER KNIVES designs are increasingly being copied by unscrupulous foreign manufacturers and we feel we have a major role in protecting our customers from knockoffs.

Counterfeit products strangle innovation, create unfair competition, they do economic harm to businesses, and of course they mislead consumers into purchasing poorly made, cheaply priced fakes. These substandard built products, especially knives can be a safety hazard. We will use all legal means to hold those accountable who manufacture, distribute and /or sell counterfeit RICK HINDERER KNIVES products.

If you have questions or concerns regarding a particular knife purchase, please contact me and I will gladly help you determine the authenticity.

We would like to ask all of you to report any fake RICK HINDERER KNIVES products by emailing; rob@rickhindererknives.com We will do our best to pursue each and every fake.
