Gentlemen’s knife

Looks more modern folder/tactical to me. For me a gentlemans knife would be considered a knife that doesn't look out of place if someone pulled it out in business attire or a stereotypical grandpa carried. So for the most part traditional knives and a few of the more modern offerings. To me it would have to be something everyone including the more knife adverse crowd will immediately recognize as a tool first and foremost and not feel threatened.

I have an Al Mar Ultralight Hawk that I use ad a gentleman's knife. I added a clip on it so I can use it as a tie clip too.

I don't have an image of my carbon fiber T10 lancet by Willian Henry, that was very sleek, shirt pocket carry weight as well, but here's a couple shots of another William Henry, one along side my Sinn 656, sadly both are long since gone, but I never felt it was a tactical type folder;

That reminds me of this one I recently saw. The lighter contrast of the wood on the rest of the knife being darker.

A knife does not make the gentleman, the gentleman makes the knife, and this is totally behavior, not possessions, related.
you can't buy class, only expensive camouflage.

Dont know how official it is in knife collecting circles for a knife to be called a " Gentlemans knife " and as an amaeteur collector of knives , some of them small folders with what I like to see as a certain amount of quality and ellagence about them , I am curious to know ? in my small collection I have makes from Mcusta , Masserin , Karresuendo , Kizer , CRKC ,Puma and Boker as well as a few more I cant remember .

Yeahhh! Zombie thread!! 🧟‍♂️
I think black coated blades can work for some "gentleman knives"... My James Wayland is a good example. If you pair it with a nice blackout classy watch it will work for sure!
...but yeah most of the black coated blades are more "tactical oriented"

The term is pretty well understood to mean a smaller folder with a certain level of refinement (and are decidedly not "tactical"). My go-to is the Micro Evo Typhoon, but I just got a CRK Mnandi with Elforyn inlays, and it's a very classy tiny knife. For a slightly bigger option, I like the TRM Neutron 2 with some nice scales (especially the titanium).
